Sigh.
China’s also a dystopian hell hole, most of its people live in poverty, and a lot of the architecture within the cities is rapidly crumbling. It’s an authoritarian-Communist nation, that actively suppresses the rights of its people, and threatens the sovereignty of surrounding nations.
It’s rather high-tech, as well. China creates most of the electronics we use, as does Japan.
So yes. In all regards, It’s Cyberpunk.
