I’ve built dozens of PCs and never forgot it. Helped my buddy build his over the summer and right at the end of the build, literally about to hit power button, I find the IO shield sitting on the table under a component box. Felt like I let him and myself down.

I did this a few months ago. Got the big xtx and that wouldn’t fit my case so had to get a new case. Left the io plate on the old fing case. I left it there. I don’t care.

It was built into my mobo. My problem was that I never had a case where the SATA SSDs mounted behind the motherboard so I still had to pull everything back out to install them correctly.
