I splurged on a HD 800 S, and holy fucking shit. I had no idea the difference in a top tier set of headset would make in terms of immersion. And it feels like cheating in games like counterstrike lol

  2. Now add an amplifier to the setup and your reaction would be 100% more 🤯

Lol.. good audio is nice. I haven’t used gaming type headphones, last set I used were basic koss stereo or something on my pc (I’ve used nice ones some time back but didn’t own them). I did finally upgrade my pc speakers awhile back. Haven’t had a proper stereo in quite a few years, got used to the crappy little pc speakers I had.

Hooked up the stereo bookshelves through an avr and eventually added a 12″ sub. So much nicer. And run them a lot quieter now. Even without being directly on my ears the directional is there. Inch the volume up a bit higher than normal and the sub’s currently near my feet. Turns my cheap office chair into a rumble seat. lmao. Who needs haptic controllers anyway.

Just be aware that the difference between bad, and so good you cant tell anymore, is hit very quick.

Like some cheaper Sony MDR-7506 and digitally mixing your audio in windows to fit your taste, would accomplish the same kinda effect.

Dont fall down a rabbit hole thinking dumping more money in makes it better. It really doesn’t it, but you’ll have spent so much you’ll start talking yourself into it having been a good choice.

Human hearing is shiiiiiiit. Is easy to fool us with any half decent setup since the early 2000s.

  5. I googled those headphones like “ahh maybe a gift idea to give the wife…”

    $1500!?

Isnt that from the movie green mile where Tom hanks bladder was messed and he could barely pee

  7. Been playing with some audio-technica MX50 for 3 years, these headphones are gonna last me a decade at worst and all I gotta do is replace the padding. It does hit different.
