So, I recently got back into PC gaming and I’ve been so out of the loop that I kinda went off other people’s opinions on what to build. I just wanted to get further opinions on how to make my set up better or make sure I’m not underutilizing anything.
Any help is super appreciated!

Hello Dat20piece, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

More GPU, less CPU. No need for 1000w. Get a 7900xtx instead, you will get better performance.
So I’m guessing you are a competitive shooter player? I mean really great for like 1080p super high fps
Some recommendations are
1. Overclock! GPU helps and ram is SUPER important for 1% lows (your weakest link). Good ddr5 kits have huge tuning potential. Try to get to at least 7200mhz (not possible if you bought a Samsung die kit). Also testing for stability with ram and any overclock in general is crucial
2. GPU, if you want the best performance, don’t undervolt. Some cases if your power limits are the limiting factor is may help but generally max power allows for highest clock speeds (if temps are reasonable)
3. Cpu, overclocking ring speed can help quite a bit. P/E core overclocks aren’t super important for gaming
4. Bios setting such as disabling cstates or disabling hyperthreading can help gaming performance slightly, disabling hyperthreading greatly hurts multicore workloads though
5. Optimize windows. I personally use a program called atlas OS, helps with 1% lows and high polling rates. Surprisingly a well optimized windows could get you can extra 5-10% fps over stock
Get a 5800X3D or 7800X3D instead with a 7900 XT / 7900 XTX, also, PSU is overkill, if you can get a cheaper 850w PSU, do that. Also, get a B550 / B650 motherboard, A Z or X motherboard is overkill. And lastly, I would highly recommend getting a 3440×1440 ultrawide monitor, it’s honestly such a gamechanger, I’ll never go back to normal 16:9 screens.
