If you never go above 3k, you answered your own question. It’s useless some people might use high dpi on mouse but low settings in game.
Ancient-Sweet9863
I have a basilisk as well I just have mine set kind of low for smoother gaming. I don’t need a stupid fast dpi for my games.
And excellent choice on the basilisk.
EastLimp1693
In years personally evolved from 1,5k to 5,5k. I have enough mouse space to not need more.
blueangel1953
Dude seriously blurred out his serial number on his mouse lol.
lickarock88
>Are there any benefits to having 26k dpi?
Haha cursor go brrrrrrrrrrrr
OddlySexyPancake
isn’t it like sensitivity to smaller movements? so a 14K dpi mouse at 3K would make more “jagged” movements as compared to a 26K at 3Kdpi?
idk i’m only asking
eestionreddit
crank up your DPI, and lower your cursor speed and sensitivity, it’ll improve accuracy
L0veToReddit
Mine is set to 950 lol
prombloodd
I think I have mine staged out from 800 dpi all the way up to 4300 and 4300 can be a little too much at times
Sage009
I’ve owned multiple 16000DPI mice and not once have I ever stuck with any setting above 3000 in any game, so it really feels pointless. Even at 3000, I have to lower in-game mouse sensitivity all the way to 0.2 to get a stable experience.

With increased DPI, your mouse becomes **more responsive and accurate**, allowing for smoother and more precise movements in fast-paced games. This can give you an edge in competitive gameplay where split-second decisions and precise targeting are crucial.
-I-AM-JAY-
I don’t get why you should ever need 3k. I have 800 and lower for some games..
LouSassole-
Yes.
You can 360000º no scope.
Surprise-Fiat
26k DPI for the 16K screen you may use in 2077
That_Cripple
benefits include: bigger number better marketing
Important-Guidance22
IIRC higher DPI also means increased accuracy on mice, though not insanely. So its not just about being abled to 36000-ty in 1 sweep.
WTF_CAKE
I can’t believe you blocked your serial number how will I ever claim loss of my very own mouse!
frisky_5
High dpi and really low in game sensitivity to make movement more accurate, but 26K ? That is useless only if you have a 10 acres monitor
Dealric
Serious answer:
Youre likely never use that dpi. But higher dpi is achieved with better sensors. Fact that it can reach it means you have better sensor which mean more precision across any dpi due to better surface tracking.
It doesnt mean youll ever notice difference and benefit from it
quantumphaze
Useless. I’ve never gone past 800 dpi in the past 15 years of using Logitech and Razer mice. At 26k dpi you can’t get the in game sense low enough. I’m 800 dpi and 2.5 in cs2. Imagine 26k?
EquipmentShoddy664
I never go above 1200 lol
Absolutely marketing bullshit.
zsombor12312312312
It’s more accurate if you use high dpi low sensitivity
JackdiQuadri97
Actually it’s better to stick to native dpi (usually around 800dpi) or close multiples of that (which usually translates to 400/800/1200/1600).
With very high dpi it loses accuracy
Suspicious_Put_8073
You can pin point your dick!
Cermmi
You can get banned in CS2 for using DPI so high
HoomzRMMK5
It’s called overkill.
Jeoshua
Theoretically, you can amp up the DPI and turn the sensitivity in the computer/game settings way down, and you’ll have marginally better aim. It’s less of a benefit than high hz displays, and even that is only mere fractions of a percent better than your “standard” 800dpi 60hz situation.
So I can spin my character at 30,000 RPM to disorientate anybody spectating my game
ms-fanto
Maybe for extremely high resolutions that wasn‘t released yet.
7orly7
maybe for a specific use like: THere is a chracter in genshin that fire a “laser” beam, so if you rotate him fast enough you pretty much turn his laser into an AOE attack LOL
aside from that maybe reduce the amount of space you have to move your mouse but perhaps at the cost of some stability
Edit: I user razer deathadder v2 x hyperspeed at 2100 DPI, anything above 3000 is way to high in my experience

No need to use that high sensitivity from the mouse. The number is just specmanship. That said, all manufacturers engage in the same specmanship and you might not want to use the highest sensitivity offered by a particular sensor as usually sensor specmanship lead to that top sensitivities offered have a lot of noise which can lead to a jittery cursor if the noise crosses a rounding threshold.
So to have a specified sensitivity well above what you need is still a nice safety cushion. I would not buy a mouse on specs alone if it only offered up to the DPI I would want to use, as I fully expect that the max supported DPI is noisy as heck. (If I tested it and could verify it worked well, then there would be no issue though)
SpaceGator3000
Yes you can lose your pointer with multiple monitors much faster
FirmAppointment420
I rarely go above 1200dpi, there is no gaming use for it as I’m aware
I use 600dpi, I’m leaving so many dpi just sitting on the table smh, all that performance WASTED 😤
MokumLouie
Higher bigger always means more better
Blommefeldt
Not quite, but kinda like going from 4K to 8K.
26k dpi is 26000 dots per inch. The dpi is the resolution of the laser in the mouse, so it can make 26K movements per inch.
On your desktop, it won’t really be noticeable, but in games it can be. 26K compared to 3K will give you more smoothness and precision.
Budd96
For me, I used 10k dpi as a daily driver from web surfing all way to gaming. I don’t play fps games, but I do play zombie survival games like World War z and State of Decay 2 with hard difficulty, I used 10k dpi for those games, never looked back.
Original_Dropp
I run at 8k and it’s a tad too slow for my 2k screen playing mmo’s in FPS I play at 10-12k depending on game so yeah for 4k screen if it scales the same I could see some players maxing it out.
