After having so many problems with the RX 7900 XTX I gave up and got a RTX 4090, not a single problem since I got it. Just wanted to share!

Don’t forget to buy a fire extinguisher

Please have the fire department on standby. It will be a sad day when your $2000 GPU goes up in flames. Best of luck. I hope you have an appropriate power supply. You may want to install Halon dispensers just to make sure.

Just got mine a couple weeks ago, what a beast, enjoy it!

bruh did you just pay $150 for an extra 2 year warranty on a GPU that includes a 3 year warranty already?

  7. Zatoichi80

Lovely stuff, enjoy …… just simply a great card

Now you’re in the elite group that can complain about every game that’s releasing that it doesn’t run well even though my 2x 1080ti can run everything perfectly fine.

  9. Nice! I’m going to microcenter this Friday for a new MOBO/RAM/CPU!

  10. Ways to reduce 12VHPWR failure

    * Use a direct PSU cable, no adapter!
    * Push it in firmly and evenly until the clamp clicks shut. If you are unsure about the seating, post a picture on here
    * Let the cable bend “naturally”, don’t force an immediate bend after the plug (PSU manufacturers recommend 35 mm before the bend starts, that’s rather conservative)
    * Cable manage before you connect the cable
    * Optional: If possible use a vertical GPU adapter (Reduces strain on the clamp and mechanism slightly)

The case looks a little narrow for a good bend, but we’ll see.

Hilarious that you have to find ways not to set your card on fire. Yep sounds way better than AMD.

Congrats! I want to purchase an 7900 xtx next week. What where your problems?

Have a happy meleted connector day 😛

Just above your post, i saw another talking about a technician who receives and repaired One Hundred RTX 4090’s with melted power connectors every month, lol

These responses are crazy. Aren’t most of the failure 4090s down to human error or faulty adapters?

  18. VShadowOfLightV

Columbus is definitely the best microcenter location!

Good luck with that melting connector.
