On my first playthrough I pretty much just rushed the main story and was just as unequipped.
In my 2nd playthrough on 2.0 I’ve been doing a lot of side stuff and am heavily chromed before even finishing the pickup. I have a blue tier silenced pistol one shotting most enemies on hard. I’ve completed every gig and ncpd scanner mission available to me at this point.
It’s pretty funny how weak and useless Jack is in comparison on this run.
But at least this time I chose corpo so being so efficient makes sense.

To be fair, the Heist would probably have paid like 4k, if it had been successful, considering saving the president rewarded you with only 5k.

Having Cyberware in and of itself isn’t a guarantee of success. Cyberpsychosis is a thing.
Plus, Jackie himself says that he can’t afford higher end cyberware, that’s why he has you controlling the Flathead instead of him. The only reason V is able to get Kiroshis is because Viktor is a bro and essentially gives us a loan.
