saw a good deal for this asus rog strix z690 so i pulled the trigger. starting to get more worried about the pins as i wait for the rest of my parts. do they look ok? the seller had very good reviews and his description said it booted into windows. just need some reassurance

Definitely some bent pins, but they could still contact correctly or they are redundant.
Personally I would never buy second hand boards especially if you cannot test before purchase.

Booting into Windows is one thing, putting a load on it another.
If you are lucky the pins aren’t needed.
not too bad, looks like you’d be able to save it by gently bending the bent pins back where it should be with either a safety pin or exacto blade (whichever you’re more comfortable handling) as long as you get it aligned decently, I don’t see a problem (maybe?) aside from one broken pin in the bottom left corner of first pic.
I’m not sure. I see at least 2 bent pins.

The upper one can work. I got doubts with the lower one.
EDIT: A third bent pin in the upper left corner.
Bottom-right has some bent pins. They seem like they’ll still make contact. There’s also debris in the bottom left, possibly a hair.
I would not trust it and you probably paid more than a completely brand new and intact Gigabyte or Asrock just for the “ROG STRIX” name.
I see a handful of bent pins. The most obvious being just to the right of the bottom of the rectangle in the center.
Plug it in and see what happens it’ll either work or it won’t, I’d take out redundant stuff Justin case something fucks up
I would return this immediately lol. You shouldn’t have ANY bent pins on a motherboard being sold as working lol.
OP, this sub is filled with misinformation.
Looking at those pins, there’s only two that are bent.
They are very minorly bent out of shape. To the point where i wouldn’t even bother fixing it.
This will work just fine, as long as you can benchmark it and prove it’s stable, somewhat.

Those whining about getting a replacement, pffft. It’s really easily fixable, just get a needle and carefully pry/push/pull the “different” pins so they look like the others. It’s easier than you think.
How much did you pay for that motherboard and how’s much of the going rate in your country for a new one?
You mean aside from the bent pins which will make it unlikely to work?
The few bent pins seem straighten enough and the head are aligned, it should work
You’ve got two pins out of alignment both in the bottom right quarter. Easy to fix with a pair of tweezers tho, would suggest doing before you plug anything in
I spent about 4 hours bending about 40 pins back on a free motherboard, its not as hard as people make it seem, just be INCREDIBLY SLOW AND CAREFUL

You got ripped off unfortunately. But with a steady hand you could fix it. Otherwise it’s a gamble putting a CPU in as not only could it fry the CPU, but take other components with it. I’d just use the iGPU and 1 stick of ram and stress test it for a good while if it boots before putting anything else in.
Maybe a couple pins are suspect but I’d still give it a test as could be salvageable/promising.
Those bent pins are pretty rough. I’d talk to the seller about it, before seeing if you need to refund. Either way, don’t wait on this because you’ll run out of your return period.
About five bent pins
A “refurbished” motherboard should actually be refurbished, not just used + damaged. You should contact the seller and get a refund/replacement as currently this is parts-only condition.
Your reassurance will come when you test it, either reassurance it works or reassurance it was a bust.
Looks refurbished.
Motherboard is not something I’d ever want to get refurbished, or a Power Supply.
