So I’ve been having this gpu in the closet for the past couple months because one of my brothers dropped juice or something on it and now it has all this stuff stuck to it. Im trying to use to to build another pc but was wondering if I’m able to clean this off or if it’ll work like that.

sure you can clean it, I would suggest a bath in rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush

Just soak it in some soapy water and then scrub it clean
use a soft bristled brush and don’t scrub hard. a toothbrush is fine. soak in alcohol first. I would take the gpu apart.

Don’t turn it on until you’re 100% sure it’s dry, even after cleaning, wouldn’t want to short it, best of luck bro

If that’s rust at all I’d e-waste it. A GTX 1050 isn’t that powerful (for most people) and probably not worth the hassle.

Honestly though, a 1050 isn’t worth the time and effort.
A lot flux and heat and finishing it off with BW100. I don’t understand why people keep saying alcohol. Feels like someone telling to put my phone in rice.

put it in your dishwasher, no soap, no dry cycle. it will clean it right up. let it sit out for a few days with a fan on it to dry up. I did this to my own entire PC when I spilt beer on it while building it. that PC is still in use today, as my nieces gaming PC. its been operational since 2014 when this happened.
Honestly I’d run it through the dishwasher on hot without soap. It works. I’ve done it repairing a bad card before. You then give it a bath of isopropyl alcohol after to displace the water and wait a few days to test. The hot dishwasher water will melt away the sticky shit.
white spirits or isopropyl alocohol. you can use a bit of water but it has to be COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE POWERING IT UP
Alcohol and an acid brush would be better take it apart carefully then put it back together with the thermal paste and you should be good.

Power washer.
Make sure to let it dry full of soaking with alcohol

Like others have said, your best bet is isopropyl and a toothbrush.
But in all likelihood, the window of opportunity for this board to work again passed about 24 hours after the spill occurred. If the juice was acidic it has probably had plenty of time to corrode delicate components. Good luck, I hope it works.

Yes, use an ultrasonic bath with mild detergent and medium / low temp around 35 deg C . Have been cleaning circuit board like this for years . Then dry thoroughly and inspect solder joints before re- assembly.
If you can clean a wrench, you can clean a GPU.
My college roommate spilled an entire 32oz glass of pepsi into his pc and didn’t notice until hours later when it shutoff because of overheating. The cpu fan would no longer spin as it got sticky and dried. The gpu was covered in sticky residue and had no backplate and it still works 7 years later afaik
Best bet alcohol to not corrode it, some soft toothbrush and it should be fine
I’d get some isopropyl and an esd microfiber cloth. Gently wipe clean.
I know we say often a blood donation is mandatory when building a pc, but just in case, we’re kidding you know. 😉
