I mean apples statement is probably exaggerated but theres definitely some truth to it. Apple hardware is designed explicitly for macos so its going to be more efficient in terms of memory usage for general use

I don’t understand how they can make a claim like that and not be immediately sued for blatant false advertising. Anyone with half a brain should know that 8GB of ram isn’t going to magically work for a photoshop image that needs 8.1GB of ram like it would in a 16GB PC will.
And did you see the upcharge price for more ram? It adds $200 on top of the already crazy price just to get 16GB total of ram. That’s $25 per GB of ram. I added an extra 64GB of ram to my PC for just $60 a year ago, less than $1 per GB.

I mean my Macbook with 8GB of RAM is better for dev work than my coworkers lenovo with 16GB of ram and the same processor. So yeah this is kind of true. Her computer is constantly freezing and mines just chugging along.

While I dont defend this, its at least more understandable with the arm chip that they charge more since its unified into the chip itself. Its not just something you could buy off the shelf. It was unexcusable when they were running intel.

I’ll never ever buy a Apple product other than their display and iPhone perhaps but I gotta be honest, their software is well optimized.
