While it’s funny, is it really an actual problem? It’s like one extra click, just pick the first option.
There’s a lot more shit in Windows 11 that needs fixing, much more important things.

Microsoft is getting more egregious with their anti competition bullshit. Im sick of being asked to changed my browser to edge every couple of days. Im sick of constantly getting ads for office 365 when I log in. And Im sick of shitty onedrive.

This seems to be the next facet of Microsoft seeming to think that, because you’re using the operating system they designed, your computer is actually theirs, they’re just letting you borrow it. Personally, I’ve never had a use for OneDrive, so I use [W10 Privacy](https://www.w10privacy.de/english-home/) (which also works on Windows 11) to totally uninstall it, along with various other things it does. This avoids things like being interrogated as to why I don’t want to use a certain program or feature on my own computer.
Thankfully you don’t need to explain yourself when you delete the partitions and install Linux
Fucking Onedrive, man! What’s the simplest way to nuke it forever? And Teams too for that matter.

Microsoft ruined Edge. I tried using it at first and really did like it. Now it’s a browser with built in ads. That’s all it is. It’s so difficult to use because of how many distractions there are built into it. It BEGS you to use it, but I’ve learned to work around it.
I subscribe to OneDrive. It works very well for my use case with syncing photos and docs between my PC, RoG Ally, and iPhone. It works so well that it’s replaced my NAS, (I do still follow a 3-2-1 backup rule).
With how hard they’re pushing Edge and OneDrive, it’s making me flat out want to quit Windows, or at least use an alternative to OneDrive, out of spite.
I really hate being force fed stuff on my computer. I don’t put up with Ads, which is why I have AdGuard Home for a network level solution and I pay for software to not be served ads. The last thing I want are ads baked into my OS.
Really fed up and am ready to start exploring alternatives to Windows.
Reminds me of having to explain why and when you shutdown a server.

To be fair, the warning that the files will not be sync anymore is a good one.
My dad often closes the onedrive for reasons and then asks me why is not syncing anymore.
Reading this thread has given me the perception that I am in a very small minority of people who perform their own windows installations and take care to remove unwanted programs inside of windows.
It’s a struggle to uninstall stupid things and useful only to their pockets 🙁

Microsoft is in general very pushy with OneDrive. It is turned on by default when you install Windows, and the method of turning it off is not very obvious. Who wants all of their stuff just automatically saved to the cloud without any input? That is a security risk, and it will run out of storage space almost immediately anyway.
Stop using OneDrive until they get rid of this ridiculous requirement, then continue not using OneDrive lol…

I have Onedrive Bussiness running for my work account all the time (the one with the blue icon) but there is another one also running besides that (with a grey icon) which I don’t need. I have no idea how to prevent that from auto launching.

We’re so tired of Microsoft’s crap, it’s no wonder they’re losing market share to Apple and Linux/other OS’s.
With Apple silicon and Apple’s good interface + the ecosystem , there’s no reason they shouldn’t have 50% market share in US in some time. They’re already at like 30% here, 10-20% worldwide.
