Reddit should be kinder all together but it wont and I most certainly won’t.
Radaysha
I don’t have that feeling tbh.
PQCTHREE
That and pre builts.

To be fair most of these questions are a simple google search away, and I’d buy a 1060 for $1 just to have

1 dollar? for sure!

The problem with low end buyers is that they are also the ones who can least afford to spend money in obsolete gear, so recommending anything that is just cheap instead of good value is not conducive to helping them.
MrSlickWilley
No such thing as a bad computer, just a bad price.
StolzHound
I know it’s hyperbole but the average question is usually a prebuilt with a 1650 for $999.
But, I’m all for being kinder and trying to educate people rather than ridicule, so that is a good request.
HorrificAnalInjuries
A 1060 can still handle a fair few games out there.

24gb of vram isn’t going to cut it, you need minimum of 48gb vram
Whole-Imagination354
Never saw this happen
TheRealGamingGamer
PC MASTER race not PC mid race
Zaraxeon
If it doesn’t have an RTX 6090 Super 57GB it ain’t worth your time.
Cave_TP
IDK why I should tell people to buy a 300$ PC with an i7 2600 and a 1060 when for that price they can build something with a 9400 and a 5700XT
ScoobyDaDooby
If its better than what they currently run, who cares?
Me, personally, I only do silly expensive gpus as I want to hit big boy frames at ~~4k~~ 1080p with my 4090
The sub needs some kind of posters or PSAs that are constantly circulating on the front page.
I feel like all we’re seeing nowadays are people buying out of day GPUs or asking if obvious Amazon scams are legit
spitsfire223
Only when it’s overpriced/prebuult. Pcmr is much more welcoming to low end parts than high end parts in general. 4070tis, 4080s get ridiculed all the time for less than ideal combinations

Meanwhile me here trying to sell my old parts turned another build with 1060, the 3GB version. I’m getting the impression that it’d be better to chuck it in the trash than sell if based on OP’s and occasionally the posts themselves here.
Being in 3rd world country, the other day someone asked our local subreddit what’s their spec, very few with what PCMR would call decent, a good portion sticking with APU, and most of em can hardly push far past 1080p 60fps.
aryvd_0103
If 1060 is a lower end build idk what I’d call my laptop
ObamaIsFat
Sub is called PC master race, not PC poverty participation trophy. There’s a certain amount of elitism that should be expected.

I need this meme template.

I haven’t seen this meme template used in almost 10 years.

I thought we were in agremeent that nothing above 2060 is worth getting because Nvidia are stupid poo-poo heads and evil greedy capitalist corporates who don’t love you like Mommy AMD does?
IDKIJustWorkHere2
i dont care what system you have. you can rock a 4090 or a 7750hd. as long as your happy im happy.
smoothartichoke27
I don’t think the community is unkind to people with low-end builds. It’s builds that don’t make sense that are frowned upon.
Broly_
Bro, just wait and save a bit a money and with that money you go buy a 4090

Tbf: even a rx580 can still do a decent Job.
(Thanks to its 8GB).
