Top fans are intake above the radiator. Temps have been fine but I just wonder if over time this could create a problem.

Correction: It’s the place you are allowing her to sit while you game.
You do realise it’s a pet yes? You can move it from places it shouldn’t be.

The fans being intake is a bit bad, since they are pulling cat hair inside.

If you make them exhaust air, it should decrease the amount of cat hair inside the case and also push some hot air out, which the cat might like more.

Other than that, you’re at risk of clogging things and might require more frequent cleaning.

  3. Kidmerciful2

I assume you’ll just have to do some cleaning a lot more often.

  4. If you have enough space on your desk you could set up a decoy keyboard. My cats love sleeping on keyboards so i put an old one that isnt connected on the desk.

Other option is to have a little elevated platform above the top of the case. This way she can sit there without disturbing airflow. Maybe its even more comfortable.

Get her a heating pad or something similar close by. She likes the warmth coming from it. I know it’s set to intake but it still gives off a bit of heat from the back that she’s getting. It worked for my cat at least. But like I said, somewhere close. My cat only wanted to use the heating pad if it was as close to me as my tower is

  6. A few other people have said this but get a heated pad or something for her, sitting on top of your pc isn’t great for airflow especially cus that’s your intake and it’ll be a pain to clean. She probably just wants somewhere near you that’s nice and warm

Is this really a thing with people letting their cats sit on top of their cases, or is it a troll meme?

    Sskk skk! Off!

It won’t be good for temps, but you said they are ok.

Like most things, they need to be taught, you shouldn’t let your cat up on tables, bench’s etc… Or they will hop up on them at night time, when you can’t monitor them and it’s not sanitary. Beds and couches are fine, but table tops are for food, drink, vases and so much more.

I owned cats most of my life and I am trained as a small animal vet, companion animals.

You may need to use a harsh tone while shooing or moving them off, but trust me they will still love you a lot.

  9. My cat loves to sit on top of my PC as well! Luckily I have a solid top case so it’s just a nice warm box for her to sit on.

Had a top rad setup with exhaust. Definitely no problem, but it being an intake……prepare to clean all the fur and dust from the nook and cranny of your pc especially if you don’t put any mesh filter.

  11. coffeejn

Might just be me, but why would you install the radiator as an intake on the top? Are you trying to avoid having the box suck up dust from below?

My cat too, but I always lay my PC flat, I don’t set it as a tower.

Put something on top of the pc where the air can still ventilate under, like some plexi glass with rubber stands.

  14. Would be fine if it weren’t intake. That is gonna cause an insane amount of hair, flaky skin etc inside your pc 🤮

And no, a dust filter is not gonna stop it

I would set the top to exhaust and then no issues.

Am I the only one who noticed the look of his cat?

  16. doomedgaming

Not even because of the cat, but they should be exhaust because heat rises, then use fans on the front as intake

  17. thats-bait

My cat has overheated my pc to the point it shuts off on me. Cats love the heat vents

Do you or a friend have acess to a 3d printer? I got a solution if yes

  19. Brief-Government-105

My friend’s cat also sits on his pc. Cats are weird.

  20. Shy do our Standard Issue Cats always look so judging when we are trying to enjoy ourselves with a well deserved gaming session? My SIC does the exact same thing.

Put a small amount of Vicks vapor rub on the top. Just a tiny amount. Cats hate menthol more than pretty much any other scent.

I love my dogs but I trained both of them and set boundaries. Is this not possible with cats?
