Gotta start somewhere. I did something similar for my younger brother years ago where I got him an older Optiplex and threw my then-unused RX 580 (and a power supply) into it. It got him through a lot of Destiny 2.

Holy shit an actual XFX gpu. (I still have my 8500gt Fatal1ty)

  7. I got a broken one of these(or something in that series) as a freebee a few years ago. Wasn’t expecting much with it being HP but I found sound pretty useful hardware in it. Mine came with something like a Quadro 2000.

It came with a small HP branded radiator which leaked on the Quadro. I threw in an old card I had lying around and it booted right up. I ended up giving it to a friend in need some time after that.

A couple of fun facts… That motherboard tray is removable. Something I only found after after taking out the board to put a new cooler on it. There may also be a speaker for audio in the front of the case. It sounds like shit but it’ll get you by in a pinch.

    Welcome, brother/sister/other!

I see you’re already running Afterburner, so you’re well on your way to stressing about frames and having no extra disposable income 🙂

I rock the exact same card. You have exquisite taste. Welcome to the club.

RX580 one of the best budget gpus for 1080P gaming for older titles and maybe some current ones with graphics tuned down! I had one in my old pc for about 5 yrs

You don’t need Msi afterburner with an amd gpu. Their proprietary software Adrenaline is far superior. For both tuning and monitoring. Nvidia still in the early 2000’s when it comes to their software support.

I used to have a computer from this same HP Series, the Z230. I loved it, it was also my first gaming pc and it had an i5-4460 and GTX 660 2gb.

  13. EnderloZ

The mouse & keyboard cost more than the pc..

    welcome

That XFX logo gave me nostalgia for the first motherboard I put in back in 2009.

I love the HP Z series of workstations. They make great budget gaming systems and even better budget servers and audio-visual workstations.

  16. NotMyGroceryList

Did you already break the glass?

    Jokes aside, congrats!

  17. Byurner3000

It’s funny/cute to me seeing a more modern/customized keyboard and mouse next to an older tower. Congrats on the first gaming pc!
