I find that my in game performance and clock speeds in game are far higher in game than they are in benchmarks in general. Superposition says my overclock goes from a 17900 to a 18500 on my 7900xtx which translate to a 3% uplift. In ratchet and clank rift apart, I go from ~100 fps to ~107 fps which is a 7% uplift. I noticed it in other games too, benchmarks seem to have my clock speeds hover 100-200MHz lower than their game speeds. Anyone else notice this? I always thought the problem with benchmarks was that they exaggerated uplift, not the other way around.

By any chance do you have power limit increased? A lot of times those benchmarks can hit PL restrictions and cause a throttling scenario even if temperatures are fine.

Not really, only good to get a number for comparison to other systems and yourself.
The other one that donut is just overkill. To find temperature and max power use.
With my 7900xt overclocks would increase score in these benchmarks, but my game performance in some were down for some reason… It was dropping memory clocks for higher core speed or vice versa. There are a few vids on YouTube about the issue.

Spent hours testing all sorts of different undervolt/overclock presets in superposition. Each one passed the benchmark with flying colors. They also crashed in cyberpunk within 5 minutes.
Play games to test your overclock, specifically the most demanding game you have.

Thats called shader complexity. Its pretty intense to say in a tweet like message so id consider searching about it. The ultra short version is: diferent loads will loads your hardware diferently, and generally, people dont usually understand that. For instance I can make my cpu pull 170w reaching max of 80c everything at 100% or using another loads making it pull 170w reaching 112c at same configs. Gpus does it all automagically but if you come back to cpu to making it easier to understand, theres usually even diferent settings for avx loads when the mobo is completely feature reach.
