I mean think about it. And let’s just say we include Phantom Liberty along and then Raid Arasaka with Rogue.
Raided Arasaka Tower 2x. And the first time managed to stealth advanced Arasaka tech.
Managed to dispatch tons of Arasaka Soldiers
Killed(Incapacitates) Adam Smasher
Down a Kang Tao AV
Shut down a city power plant
Managed to raid the Black Sapphire.
Took part in killing Kurt Hansen
Killed the biggest higher ups in the Voodoo boys like Mama Bridgette and Placide
Managed to wipe out and entire mall of animals and dispatch Sasquatch (bigger more fiestier animal)
That makes him the best right?

I think V is the best of all time
In the cyberpunk universe you mean?
They ain’t no Morgan
Completed every gig **solo** given by every NC fixer successfully.
Took down every cyberpsycho in NC that usually requires a whole squad of MaxTac to deal with.
Beat Oda, the best Ninja that Arasaka can offer.
Knocked the fuck out of Razor Hughes.
Gave the whole NCPD a whole month’s worth of paid leave by taking down every reported crime in the city.
Technically Panam was the one who down the Kang Tao AV.
And Netwatch was the one who killed the Maman Bridgette and her netrunners.
hitting level 60 is also a bit of an achievement
Nah, Morgan Blackhand literally wrote the book on being an edgerunner
V isn’t a solo, necessarily.
Also isn’t a “he” either
I mean V is one of the baddest but there are definitely badder characters. Take the doom guy for example. He literally shot himself into the damn planet and took on the Hell’s army all by himself. Dont think any implants would help with that.
V is just over powered due to video game buffs and plot armor. Not a accurate way to compare to established lore characters. Especially the easy way you can smack around Adam Smasher later in the game.
Main character syndrome.
But I think what finally makes V legendary is the solo raid on Arasaka HQ with the “secret ending”.
Yes. V is basically a god at max level, and her accomplished are unmatched.
I think they might regret having V kill Adam Smasher. Imagine that fight on a better engine with more modern technology backing it up. Rather than being one of the easier boss battles in the whole game it could be an absolute reload a thousand times Elden Ring difficulty monster battle. Which I feel was what was always implied regarding Smasher. That he was to be Pondsmith and Night City in general’s full stop when it comes to mercs getting uppity. V just dusts up his pimp slapping hand and bats him aside like he’s a Night city NPC.
One of the reasons why V gets bads and bitter Sweet endings, dude is too OP for still being around he has to step aside for the next night city legend in the next game, it’s like a ttrpg or in-game balance.
Yes
Depends on the player! If someone plays the game for like 2 hours then thats not much. If someone plays it for at least 50 then yeay that V is a great solo.
I think it’s worth noting that while V’s resume as a Solo by the ending of the game (The Tower aside) assuming you completed every gig is completely absurd for a two month period (estimated) some of the other characters in this discussion have been active for *decades*.
Blackhand is still alive and kicking as of 2077.
He was first awarded #1 by Solo of Fortune in 2020. Maybe he’s a bit past his prime, but we’re talking about a man who survived a nuclear blast and has been an active, high-profile solo taking the gnarliest jobs Militech can offer (among other work) for *over half of a century*.
And canonically he could also run circles around Smasher.
I like to think The Sun is canon and my Valerie got Mr. Blue Eyes to unfry her brain, which would put her on track to be a living legend like Blackhand sometime in the next decade considering the absurd pace V gets work done in the game.
The other thing is that it’s really hard to compare characters here. It’s not a power scaling contest, as much as a psychopath like Smasher might make you think that.
The best solo isn’t necessarily the strongest. Being smart, being charismatic, picking your battles, and having a good team all contribute to being able to get the job done.
The best solos probably wouldn’t even show you the kind of head to head “who’s #1?” fight that would answer your question. Blackhand left Smasher’s requests for a duel on read for years. Going chrome to chrome with anyone that good involves risk. A real expert would find a way to get the job done without some climactic coin flip showdown that could get them killed.
Yes, which makes the new ending even more nonsensical because V being a nobody after partaking in so many crucial events is the equivalent of Tyrion being left out of the history books at the end of GoT S8.
Nah it’s still Free Bird.
I am an avide cyberpunk fan don’t get me wrong… but like,
Dragonborn
Until the Cyberpunk sequel that is.
Also lot of the things you listed are not guranteed story points like killing all the Arasaka soldiers, Voodoo boys and Animals, those gameplay sessions have no canon outcome, you can peacefully resolve those situations or just sneak past them. Of course sneaking is also a great skill but there is no canon feats on those events.
That’s like making an OP build and kill thousands of cops none-stop and claim that is V’s feat.
Downing the Kang Tao AV is more like careful planning than anything that requires excessive combat prowess(also the EMP plan is Panam’s idea.)
V might be the greatest Netrunner, the greatest Solo, the greatest Techi, the greatest diplomat, etc but it’s not a gurantee.
and I still can’t max out solo skill
If you treat every single quest in the entire game as having been canonically performed by V within the span of a week or two, then yeah they’re probably the best solo to ever live. However, there’s no way Morgan Blackhand isn’t gonna get that label when he shows up in the video games.
1) V has only raided ‘Saka tower once and that’s only in some of the game endings. You might be getting confused with Konpeki Plaza based on you mentioning stealing experimental tech on one of the occasions
2) V probably is the best Solo this far, but it remains to be seen which feats are actually canon when the sequel comes out
“Based on the game” dude what fking stupid question is that? It’s a video game, ofc the main character is overpowered. There isn’t enough story or contest, this is not Star Wars, what the hell get some pussy dude.
We also made it past the Blackwall and survived completely unscathed. Which not even Songbird accomplished.
Its a good thing that every ending of the game ends with V >!either dead or powerless!<, because otherwise the sequel would have to somehow explain why there’s a literal god walking among men.
