Basically remember listening to the radio and hearing the news anchor talk about a guy about to be crucified for a BD. At the time I had no idea what they were talking about but after finishing this mission, now I do
there’s alot of foreshadowing going on in the game.
when you ride up the elevator to your apartment after the scav haunt mission at the bgeninning of the game there’s a talkshow running with the guests talking about the relic
when you meet jackie the morning after and you’re talking about your upcoming job for dex v says something about being dumped in a landfill with a bullet in your head
and a lot more

There are quite a few radio broadcasts that accentuate mission, themes, events in-game. I believe there’s one about the death of Biotechnica director Joanne Koch after V neutralizes her.
Dr.Chaos numerous pirated radio broadcasts as well
ZawanShin87
I’ve seen billboards for The Passion before doing the mission
OsnaTengu
Or you can hear on the news in act 1 that River Ward saved the mayor from the cyberpsycho attack, which we investigate later on in act 2.

Despise this mission a lot – not because it’s badly written or anything, but the very premise is deeply infuriating.
Kudos to CDPR for crafting such a hateful **** of a prisoner that it feels so satisfying to just cut the mission short and get the “contract completed” from Wakako.
I played through it once, and so should everyone IMO, but I will never play through it again.

When you enter zuleikha’s house the producers woman is giving an interview about this on the TV.
MisterKnister123
There is also a Talkshow on TV where they talk about it
You can spot its billboard even before starting the side quest.

Rachel the corpo is actually on that TV show that everyone is interviewed on as well.
sunderplunder
Rachel also shows up on TV interviewed by Ziggy
Swordbreaker925
There’s visual ads for it around the city too
Nightwatcher_94
To bad I killed him in my recent playthrough no BD for the Studio all that advertising for nothing.
ametad13
I just started a new playthrough and heard it on the radio news. I haven’t even done the Arasaka heist yet.
CobraDude-1
I always gun down that guy during the mission
frowithflo
There’s also a TV interview with the producer/director where she talks about the decision to use a death row inmate for the BD
Aceylace10
If you take a moment to watch the news stations on the TV they sometimes cover details about missions. I remember watching once when Ziggy interviewed Rachel Cass about the BD.
They really went all in on making some immersive moments that many of us may probably ignore
kjacqu22
There’s a passion like billboard also
THEdoomslayer94
There’s literally billboards all over the place advertising it

In my headcannon, just like in the real world, in NC every TV episode, sound check or film scene is rehearsed before the actual event. They may have rehearsed this with some homeless dude (They have tons of them in NC anyway, such as that Johnny Aluminiumhand super fan lol).
TheGuyInDarkCorner
That producer woman (dont remember name) has also interview with Stan on tv show about this upcoming BD
Waltsforvenus
I swear every time I have the radio on I never get news . Is their a certain channel I need to have the radio on?
chip594csx
You also see ads for The Passion around town
drlovebox
Its pretty funny that I killed him off right at the start of the mission, yet later on The TV they talk about Joshua being crucified for BD, despite me killing him and off and according to the story never making the bd
brickinwalls
There are tons of advertisements for the passion fron like day 1
loaflord555
Not just the radio but also signs around the city and an interview with the director lady on the tv
DatBot17
Noticed that on my 3rd character playthrough
ST4RF13LD
I realized that The Passion poster (one of the firsts I saw when I walked out of the Megabuilding to meet Jackie) pertains to this mission.

There are a few about the Peter Pan case, you can hear about the parade before goro even brings it up
