Honestly way overated and not even that good. Its interesting if you wanna see a bit of early cyberpunk history but if you objectively analyze them as novels they are pretty boring.

burning chrome is like the cyberpunk bible. love it so much. don’t really remember MLO but i remember i disliked the second book. still love neuromancer tho.

Great read overall, I really enjoyed the Trilogy. Burning Chrome has some good short stories and some I wasn’t interested in. But it’s definetely worth a read if you like or want to discover the Cyberpunk genre.

Knowing that some of those were written in the mid 1980’s is just impressing if you look at the state of people’s knowledge on computer science at that time. Some many concepts are original and have been used since.

  4. Neuromancer can be a bit tricky to read, and a lot of people find it better with a second read. In my opinion it’s easily Gibson’s best book. He is one of the few cyberpunk writers who really tried to write “Literature”, and probably the only one to be known outside of scifi circles. The series carries on well, but loses a bit of the mania that makes the first book so unique and good.
