  1. Been playing since release, but i never did Johnnys questline, Been catching up on achievements since PL and working through the different endings. And this + the concert scene was very hard hitting.

It’s the scene that really hits home that Johnny was just another human wanting to be remembered – not the cold, emotionless asshole he tries to be.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a massive asshole but he was a >!soldier in the corpo war. He saw good people die for a company. Not for their country, not to defend their families or their homes, not for any sort of beliefs – a goddamn company.!<

He became a cynical asshole and turned to coping mechanisms like alcohol and drugs which obviously didn’t help. He felt trapped by the power of corps and wanted to make a difference and well, what else does he know besides killing?

Obviously I disagree him setting off a nuke that killed thousands of people but I get why. He wanted to make a difference, show the masses that ordinary people could fight the corpo titans.

Instead, he died screaming, sitting in a pool of piss and his body thrown in some random hole with no indication he was ever there.

It was beautifully done; every part of this scene was perfect (especially the truly bleak setting). I don’t know how people can finish the game and despise Johnny. I felt his passion, frustration, cynicism, everything, at a deep level throughout the game and even more acutely as we got to know him better, and I was happy to give him my body at the end of the game.
