For the life of me, I CANNOT decide which one I want. The first one is Asus Rog Strix X670E-A. The second one is NZXT B650E. The nzxt looks SO CLEAN and it fits in very well. But how much of a performance loss is it compared to the Asus? Third picture is my chosen case, it has the nzxt one in it on the picture. I am going with the R7 7800X3D cpu. Please help me decide. I am losing my mind.

The NZXT has been a royal pain in the ass for many because of RAM. It’s also DOA for many. It’s a clean looking board but a nightmare for many.

What are you planning on doing with the build? Also there’s a company called s-ranked that sells “motherboard armor” to make most boards look more like the next one you pictured.
There is no significant preformance difference between mobos, the only thing you should be considering is if it has the proper feature set. Does it have enough USB B or C slots, do you want/need 2 pcie 4 x16 slots, do you need wifi, bluetooth.
Unless you’re really trying to overclock you don’t need an X670 board. I have the Asus B650E-F, not a white board, but it has plenty of usb connections, fan headers, rgb headers , m.2s, and a pcie 5. X670s are crazy overpriced
What is with all these absurdly expensive motherboards? You all doing extreme overclocking or something? because the computer runs identically on a $150 mobo. Even for modest overclocking the result is going to be largely the same. obviously get the features you need.
I have the same asus one and it’s worked very well with my 7950x3d
I did not have any good experience with any Asus product, ***ever.*** (Whether be it phone, laptop, GPU) some might call it bad luck, but I see a pattern here. Both my phone and GPU started acting up the week warranty was over.
Never had a NZXT product, but my money goes to the second board.

I would much rather perfer the ASUS one over the NZXT one anyday.
I wouldn’t recommend either of those. The nzxt is over priced and the Asus board is the first board I got for my 7800x3d and ended up returning it because the GPU quick release button is trash and some of the drivers refused to install from the mobos product page. Ended up getting a gigabyte x670 aorus elite ax and have had zero issues. If you want a white board gigabyte just launched a white b650 and x670e board.
Unless you absolutely need x670 (heavy overclocking, high pcie lane requirements, etc), it’s not worth it. Go with b650.
Personally, I’m boycotting asus forever. TLDR: they took about four months to send me a mobo during a nightmare RMA.
I didn’t know nzxt made mobos. I most likely would never get it due to them specializing in cases.
I own an MSI mobo. My rec would be either them or a gigabyte.

Why not a 650-a from Asus? It’s a white rog board and probably a more even comparison for the nzxt
I mean unless you are trying to push crazy 8000mhz+ ram speeds Desynced or something, both boards are just unnecessarily expensive.

Well, if you like the looks of nzxt go for it. I don’t think there’s THAT MUCH performance difference between B series and X series (especially with no overclocking)
However, i have no idea about their reliability since I’ve never used either brand motherboard and the comment section seems to suggest NZXT might be problematic!

Everyone here giving advice on the motherboard, but skipping the most terrible case choice… Aka the hotbox. Isn’t that the worst rated airflow case ever? With those components its going to be hot in there
Doesn’t NZXT motherboards use lower quality third party made boards (not made in house)? I remember that was the case when they first came out. It’s a shame, they do look pretty clean.

Asus.
I bought the same board in black for my 7950x3D and it has been fantastic. I like how they set up the m.2 slots. BIOS was easy to update.
Others are suggesting other brands, but you’ll run into that NO MATTER which brand you chose. I think you’ve made a solid choice with the Asus.
Motherboard choices aren’t going to affect performance unless you’re getting into the weeds with overclocking. Get the cheapest that is reliable, compatible, and has the feature set you want/need.
Get the Strix. The NZXT mb has crap specs.
You don’t need a X670??
I recommend you a X670 MSI board. Lots of features that are very useful. I have half a dozen MSI boards and my MPG Edge Max is 👌
Go insane and then spend your money on mildly infuriating things like baseball caps that don’t fit
Is it worth it to pay as much for a mother board as much as you did for cpu?
Why not go for the cheapest compatible board.
I don’t think USB ports are that big of a issue and wifi/Bluetooth/sound are better taken care of by dongals, pcie cards and DACs.
The only resons I can think of would be support for better/more storage supports or rgb.
Dual bios should still be priortized.
I think you should get a motherboard with nvme support.
If your components are as covered up as that nzxt motherboard, you might as well buy a case with a metal side panel.
Use PC part picker like the rest of us
The only thing i look for in a Motherboard is that it is flashable with a USB Stick.
Never buy asus
Hardware unboxed round ups. Or Buildzoid if you want more in depth vrm analysis and topology.
