I know the FX is old, wasn’t the best CPU when it released, yada, yada, yada but is this performance acceptable for this system?

I mostly only use my PC for occasional light gaming and office tasks so it doesn’t make sense for me to buy a new 5800XD rig that I will only use MS Office, Chrome and old multiplayer games like Insurgency: Sandstorm and CS2, so I chose to stick to this system and overclock it instead as much as I can when gaming. Overclocked specs are:
1. FX-8350 overclocked to 4.6ghz
2. 2x8gb RAM at 2133mhz 11-13-13-31 Timings
3. CPU-NB Frequency 2600mhz
4. HT Link 2600mhz
5. GPU: RX 5600 XT I bought in the 2nd hand market.
Is this performance acceptable and what you’d expect out of this system? I get averages of 102fps on CS2 and then 90-100fps on Insurgency: Sandstorm. In Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, I get average fps of 70-90 by switching to vulkan by utilizing DXVK Async. Graphics settings are in Ultra or Very High on all games.

For an FX-8350 that is really good.
If you are looking for a cost effective upgrade, watch for R5 3600 + B350/B450 board + DDR4 on the used market. You can put together a nice little 2x performance upgrade for $150-170.

It’s acceptable, but these chips can do better. Most can reach 5ghz as long as you can cool it. It’s always a cooling limitation with this platform.
Once you do upgrade its going to be AMAZING. <_< that cpu is 11 years old now kinda wild
