Call me paranoid, but is this 16 pin connector inserted correctly? The top looks like it’s as far as it can go but the bottom looks like it’s not fully in
I agree. It doesn’t look fully seated, but top and bottom. Push it in more.
I wouldn’t worry too much with a 4070 about a melting connector when it’s properly seated.

Neither the top nor the bottom don’t look fully seated. This is the exact situation that caused the melting 4090s. Just push it in more.

Yeah that really seems a little loose… But why you posted before trying to do a little push? Like just try a push if doesn’t work then you post?
Edit: was really loose, op did a good job pushing it more

Always a good idea to ask something beforehand, especially when you’re tinkering with your PC. With that said, r/buildapc is a better place to ask c:

Thank you for circling the issue since I’m legally blind and couldn’t see it otherwise. Anyways its definitely not fully seated.

Thanks dude, just installed a 4090 this week and after seeing your photo I went to double check mine and sure enough, I put just a little bit more pressure into it and felt a soft click. It looks fully seated on all sides now. It was more pressure than I would feel comfortable putting on anything in my pc usually, but I can see the small release pic on the bottom of the adapter is flush now. Have a good weekend dude.

Doesn’t look fully seated but then again the 4070 is a relatively low tdp card so I wouldn’t be too paranoid, just give it a good push and close your case
NoireResteem
Definitely not seated in at all.
TryMyVeal
There’s a small plastic latch on the bottom. You should hear a small *click* when it’s fully seated.
Only then can you achieve climax

Open console and type ‘noclip’ and insert more.

It doesn’t look seated, how ever these have been melting due to the high power draw on mostly the 4090 and a FEW 4080’s, I have t heard of any 4070’s having this issue.

Not fully in, that’s what she said

That’s what she said?
Sorry, I’ll see myself out.

What 4070 is this? I’m happy mine came with 8 pin power.
