Personally I didn’t like V all that much, I found Geralt much more dignified and entertaining as a main character
Throughout my time playing Cyberpunk 2077, I always wished I could be playing as the side characters. I personally find V to be really bland and hollow. We know CDPR can write great protagonists. Geralt is a testament to that.
I mean, V certainly gets the job done. But he isn’t anything special.
Only played female v and I love her and her voice actor but think her story is complete. New character would be good.
I’ve always disliked protagonists getting de-powered in the sequel and having to start back at the bottom.
Also would love if the new protagonist had more of a background. Possibly a questline for family members. Established rivals to oppose. The game is story-driven, not a cyberpunk life sandbox after all.
For being a player stand in, they have great character. I enjoyed being them. Both Fem V and Male V
It’s not popular on this site, but yea, I would like to play as V again. Their story doesn’t feel over. Their role in whatever is coming to Night City isn’t done yet. And if CDPR aren’t fools, they see it too…or they intended for it to be that way so V can come back in the sequel and be a badass again.

Absolutely loved V as a protagonist. But I think returning to their story, and doing it in a way that isn’t cheap or grave digging, would be incredibly difficult if not impossible to pull off. V’s story is complete, and it’s perfect, let’s leave it as it is.
I liked the female V and I don’t want to see them in the sequel. And we wont play as them in the sequel. We might hear rumor’s and story’s about him but V wont be the protagonist. Their story is over.
V, especially female V, is an incredible protagonist. However I wouldn’t want to play as them in a sequel as it wouldn’t really fit the story, plus they’d either have to allow you to pick which ending you went with and have drastically different game starts or pick one ending to be canon to start with in the next game, neither of which is a good option.
I like V, but still think a pre established character like Geralt would have been far better for storytelling. I guess it really depends what you value most. Custom characters are better for immersion while pre set characters are better for storytelling. I’m firmly in the storytelling camp
V is fine, which is perfect since they are basically a self insert.
And while i do like the base characters of them (Vincent and Valerie as seen in trailers and promotional art) i think it’s better to give players a new start with a new character called K or at least something that doesn’t have a direct name so to say.
I like my version of female V so much that i definitely would want her to be lead of Cyberpunk 2 as well

One of my favorite playable protagonists in any game, easily. I’d be happy to see them in any shape or form in a sequel and feel that CDPR can go a multitude of different routes with doing that. They’re still so young that having them cleared of the relic and finding a solution to their impending mortality in the gap period between games would have them continuing to be a big player in NC, no matter how they decide to do it.
Nah, I didn’t like V at all, I’ve stopped and put my head in my hands at their dialogue sometimes, like after beating a certain robot they shout ‘rest in piss shitbot’ or something like that and I just couldn’t. I blame the UI for some of this though, the one sentence description for your dialogue isn’t enough, I pick what seems like a reasonable option and I end up acting like an asshole or threatening someone.
Nope. Their story is complete I think. It would be cool to hear them mentioned in a sequel though. Even better if a couple characters are arguing over whether V was a corpo or a nomad, or if they’re a man or woman. Like the legend is there but the details are fuzzy. Could be a nice nod.
There are enough choices ingame which defines what you want V to be. All of the choices were impactful, and none of them fully satisfiying. Perfect for a cyberpunk game.
I would not want to play as V again but wouldn’t mind a sidequest involving lore or voice line opinions about V. But it would be nice if V’s chosen ending is left unknown, so that canon is not defined.
A fresh character would give the player a start from 0, which is something that is also more suited for players that have not played Cyberpunk2077.

Loved them, but V’s story ended. Cyberpunk 2 shouldn’t have a relic but it should have a life or death situation. I think for someone the protagonist knows and cares about and the choices made by the protagonist affect that person differently.
Generic. It’s alright for a main character in an rpg.
Make V can sound pretty obnoxious and cringey at times but i blame that on the writing, not the VA. The male VA did fantastic but some lines a dialogue just had me like “really bruh -_-“
I like V, great character but Johnny adds so much flavour to him. Without Johnny, V would be some random mercenary.
V for the sequel? Don’t think so. He have became a legend of NC and Afterlife and that’s end of his story. Weather he lives or no we should focus on other character and other story that might be somehow connected to V and especially blackwall.

I’d prefer a New Protagonist with very little connection to V. Maybe some off hand remarks about how they were a fast rising legend that nobody knows what happened to, or a Drink named after them. I don’t think Cyberpunk games should be focused on a single protagonist, instead every adventure should be a new one

As long as Cherimee Leigh (female V) is the voice actor I will always play her characters.

I want V again but only if our choices from the first game affects things in the second game, like how they did with the Witcher games.

I want the Dev’s to be free to make the story they want, each new chaster can bring a new story.

To me it seems being free from just V made the anime better.
Agreed with most, new protag would be better. And I can’t imagine them continuing with this character. Would be cool to see some references to them though and I’m sure we will. Also I think a lot of games could learn something from how CDPR handled a customizable character that also was fully voiced and felt like the same character no matter what.

FemV is a cool character to play as. I really want to see her in another Cyberpunk universe game as a side/main character
V is a fine player stand in. They don’t have too many direct views and is mostly who we make them. The role they play could be filled by anyone written well enough. But I wouldn’t say no to them again either.

The fact male and female v feel so different, despite playing the same role in the story is amazing.
I do not wish to see them return tho, their story is done, a prequel doesn’t make sense and a sequel would feel wrong.

V is an amazingly well thought out and written character, even given the fact there a decisions that rely on the player.
Absolutely. Yeah this particular story is over but I don’t see any reason why V should only have one.
V is an awesome character who’s story ended in the first game.
In the second game, it would be cool to either hear about their story or meet them in game based on your save file from the previous game.
It’d be especially cool if instead of a direct “x many years after 2077” it’s a bit of a parallel story, that starts either around the middle or end of the events of CP2077 and letting your previous save file influence your new character’s story.
Love them as a character but the sequel should focus on someone else. That said though, V should be talked about by people of NC à la Morgan Blackhand or the likes.

Playing cyberpunk as anyone else would be like playing a Witcher game as anyoen other than Geralt.
Sure, it could be fun but it won’t be the real thing.
Vs story is far from done and most of the endings in the first game are deliberately opening ended enough to allow for a continuation.

V was a bold choice. V is not here to save the world, or end corporate tyranny. V is not the chosen one, V does not uncover the secrets of the black wall, he doesn’t unite the gangs… he doesn’t even defeat Arasaka…
V wants to be a merc legend. That’s it.
There’s something entirely refreshing about playing a guy whose contributions will ultimately not amount to anything in the larger scheme of things. It makes the world seem bigger and more important.

How the hell would we be able to play as V in the sequel? Not a singel ending, Inc Phantom Liberty leaves room for that
I like V but his/her saga is over, so CP2 should start with new protagonist in new place.
