No y’all were just losing your damned minds over the preset names.
If they would have named them high, ultra, super-ultra, mega-ultra, and ultra-ultra y’all wouldn’t have batted an eye.

If it’s with DLSS perf and 1080p medium (Whatever PS5 Perf mode is), it’d be right in the spec. Could be a low impact area.
If not: Maybe they wanted increased interest in the game by manufacturing outrage with insane system specs? Judging from this subreddit, it worked.

the game looks great though

1440p Balanced is not a number though. Explain it to a mathematician.

Seems like people cant wait for benchmarks before they know game is ‘X’.
It’s like all the ‘I want to buy new GPU for game that is not out yet’, the idea of waiting to see benchmarks for some people is to much for the FOMO.

The presets are stupidly named

Even on low settings the game looks pretty good, way better than starfield for example lol

And it looks absolutely amazing even on super low on lower end systems.
People whined for weeks here based on a requirements sheet. At this point, I have to wonder how many posters on PCMR are actually PC Gamers.

Wait you bought the game and formed your opinion. In 2023. no way

Also the game seems to actually work on GTX 10 series cards out-of-the-box, no modding required. It’s just not officially supported by Remedy so you get a warning when you start the game, but it seems “playable” with some low/medium settings (and some settings are completely disabled). Here is someone trying it on a 1070 card: [https://youtu.be/kMHxkrABRNs?t=109](https://youtu.be/kMHxkrABRNs?t=109)

This is with upscaling tho…

Will a Vega 56 gpu work for this game? Don’t want to update GPU since prices are still insane. I’ve been playing lord of the fallen at medium settings at 1080p with no issues so hoping I can play this game as well.

People bitches about requirements but they didn’t realized it was for overdrive/path tracing ray tracing

There’s a small degree of expecting better here. People who spent $300 on a $200 RTX 4060 expect $300 levels of performance. People who spent $1,800 on a $1,000 RTX 4090 expect $1,900 levels of performance.
Games which wouldn’t run maxed out on the latest and greatest, however, have historically been very common. Oblivion could exceed 256 MB VRAM when the mainstream was 64-128 MB, Doom3 could top 512 MB easily, when even enthusiast GPUs would be around 256/320/384 MB. Crysis spawned memes on it.
Back then, however, GPUs didn’t cost an arm, a leg, *and* a kidney, so expectations were somewhat lower. I bought a Radeon 9700 in the mid-2000s for just £230 (£397 today). Nothing on the planet could touch it. It ran everything faster than everything else. That same £400 today will just about get me an RTX 4060 Ti, which is regarded as disappointing, overpriced, and weak for its level. Or, on the AMD side, an RX 6700XT (and a few pounds back, but not enough for a decent meal) which is a damn good card, but isn’t sitting anywhere near the top of the charts.
Your money doesn’t get you as high up the GPU ladder anymore, even inflation adjusted. Gamers know this already, but studios don’t.
