AM4 chip in an AM5 board, could happen to anyone =)

Rookie mistake. Forgot to use a hammer.

Aren’t those pins exposed on the bottom 😳😳😳

  4. I want a picture of the other side of that 5900x

Bet it looks like a field of golden wheat… on a windy day.

  5. If those pins are still fine on both sides, that client is a lucky human being. But in any case he should stay away from PC DIY permanently. Watching a couple how-to video can’t fix this, IMO.

    A single Video…
A single goddamn Video could’ve prevented this.
Why dont people do Research, Like at all?

  7. Enough-Profit-681

Well its a square so it should fit at any angle right?

    Oh sweet baby Jesus no.
    Just watch a video.
    Hell, read the manual!

This is enough to make any PC builder cry. Just a goddamn Google search and everything would be alright

Not only did he buy the CPU and the Motherboard from Amazon, he also probably didn’t read the title or the description of the processor or the motherboard, even in the Amazon listing.

Charge $50 to tell him to get the correct motherboard and call it a day.

He could buy the parts but not knowledge

First thing a computer hardware store salesman told me “there’s nothing worse than buying a component that doesn’t fit”

    It hurts to see

What’s he done? Looks like he totally missed the socket

Client/s: why waste money on some tech guy to build my pc
Or i could save a couple of bucks doing it myself
    Result:$$$ ☠️💀

How in the world did he even lock the lever down. Thing is hard enough on some boards when everything is correct.

In his limited defense it says AM5 on the retainer and LGA1700 in the upper right… I could see how a rookie could get confused lol

As for his placement.. that’s another story
