Waiting to release costs more money without bringing money in.
Releasing brings money in and helps them determine if it is worth fixing or if the game is just a flop they need to move on from.

They can’t help themselves. They still don’t seem to understand that first impressions matter. Priority of shareholder demands over consumer expectations doesn’t work long term.

Here’s the thing…I have no problem with a game requiring a 3080 or even a 4090. But if you require those cards, the performance better be there. Getting 6 FPS in the menus or whatever is unnacceptable.

Why not release them? Most of the people will buy it anyway.
They will not refund even if the game launched in the total crap state, and they will pre order next game from the same developer anyway.
Don’t blame devs, blame low standard gamers.

I don’t understand the menu performance. A menu is a menu, my 486sx25 had games with menus.
ChiggaOG
They never get release due to never meeting performance targets.

Heres another idea. Release the game as a beta/prerelease/v0.9. They can even charger full price for it if they want to. Just let us know the state of the game on Release
RedRoses711
Why wouldn’t they release them unfinished when they know people will still buy it 💀
gerch4n
People will buy it anyway, not releasing it doesn’t make any sense.

I have a much wilder idea: what if we all stop to preorder games and just wait for reviewers to test them and then decide if they are worth to buy and play? This way developers and publishers will be forced to release decent games

They need/want the sales to appear on their 4th quarter results. Shareholders > anything else to the corporate world. Damage control can be done later through patches and half-assed apologies to gamers.

Here’s an idea, don’t buy it until it’s good… Problem solve.
If it doesn’t sell, they have to get their shit together.
What incentive do they have to fix a game they already sold to you?they already got your money.
Alaxbcm
If they’d just turned off 3 settings by default, the game would be rated in the 80s, and making more money

I’m almost outdated. gg wp

It’s sad I have to wait for the optimization updates to hit what happens to completing an game and shipping it optimized
Amazing-Dependent-28
How about some self control and don’t buy the fucking game if you don’t like the performance.
