Hello, just now getting into overclocking my cpu to squeeze better performance out of my more cpu intensive games (namely ArmA) and ive found myself completely confused/lost. Ive been looking back and forth between my Bios screen and a youtube video trying to make sense of it all, but the guy in the video has a different motherboard than I do so some things are labelled differently, or arent on there for me at all etc.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard = Gigabyte Z490 aorus pro ax
CPU = Intel Core i9-10850k 10 Core @ 3.60GHZ
Memory = 32GB DDR4-3200 (only one stick)
GPU = Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 12 GB
CPU cooler = AIO 240mm Liquid Cooling
PSU = 850w corsair

Im sitting here staring at my Bios screen without a clue on what to do. Ive read/heard that the i9 10850k can overclock to about 5.2 without voltage issues, and thats where i want to be at. Another thing is that, despite the fact i havent even touched any overclock settings, it appears that my cpu is already overclocking to 4.8 and is running at a high voltage. I idle around 50-53C and under load it hits as high as 80-85C.

I need a lot of guidance, I really dont want to fry anything and im just not satisfied with performance and temperatures as is right now. Any help?

    I don’t know about Intel CPUs. Rule of thumb make sure run prime 95 and OCCT make sure system is stable.

    You want performance you say?

    Only have 1 stick single channel you say?

    Find another kit with 2 sticks, install them into slots A2 and B2. This should make the first night and day performance difference to start with. Research for a B-die set 3600mhz that’s decently priced. Timings to distinguish this memory would be 16-16-16-36 when you’re looking.

    Then, after you’ve gotten that going for you, overclock time. Dual channel is a first.
