You Know It’s Going to Be Bad When the Main Menu Runs at Just 6FPS…

  1. RTX 4090 laptop, 32gb 5600mhz i9 13900hx with a laptop cooler = 12 fps at high settings 3840×2160. No dlss available either, just FSR 1 for some reason

2560×1440 runs at 37 fps average

And that’s just when starting a new map

  2. ShiromoriTaketo

Idk if it was a troll or not, but just up a few posts, I saw a headline saying the devs targeted 30 fps gameplay… If that’s true, it’s sure nice of them to leave so much room for players to fine tune their own experience to their own hardware…

  3. Accomplished_Tip3597

just disable “Depth of Field mode” in your graphics settings, your fps will go up significantly

  4. Hephaestus002

well I guess I will play it on my next pc 5 years later

  5. golddilockk

refund and move on. don’t be a beta tester. don’t keep rewarding this shit.

  6. TheAdsAreHere

2 hard GPU crashes in the first 27 minutes and auto save set to 3 minute increments not saving progress. These poor devs.

I’ll check this out in 6mo to a year when it’s left early access.

  7. Me in the Subnautica main menu 3 weeks after release with my gtx 750.

Edit: actually, I’m fairly sure that I actually got more than 6 fps

  8. Anyone who buys such games are just supporting such low effort

  9. UnknownPickl3

Did they even made a big update to call it a 2nd version? Waiting for the ability to become a citizen of my own city, drive around in first person…

  10. xblackdemonx

Guys please refund this game. They don’t deserve our money for a game that is still in beta.

  11. AlphSaber

Considering the Windows start menu is open, the game is running in the background, most games I see have a setting that restricts the fps when running in the background.

  12. stlslayerac

Hey let us know when its fixed. Really looking forward to purchasing it.

  13. Not_Bed_

What have they done to this game’s code dude, to be this bad I imagine it as like an infinite pyramid of conditions that takes millions of cycles to end💀

  14. LordBaconXXXXX

The benchmarks have been out for a while. everyone already knows that the game runs like shit. You support this, you accept this, and you are satisfied with it. That’s what you said by purchasing the game.

    Enjoy

As with CrusaderKings III versus II, I don’t really see reason to change right now. Shiny shiny, sure. But……nothing works very well for quite a long time, usually. Plus the content is lacking and the price is high.

  16. RiffyDivine2

Just pirate it, it’s already out in the usual places. I am not going to pay up front to see if it works or not.

  17. I really wanted to preorder CS 2, because I liked the first part but didn’t have money at the time. Well, zero regrets after seeing the optimisation

  18. Ellesar_Telcontar

Im at 60fps on an 8gb 6600xt and ryzen 7 5800x on 64 gb RAM. What GPU and processor are you using?

  19. repostby69noice

6 fps with the 4080. Peak gaming in 2023

  20. xTeamRwbyx

This is why I’m waiting till either it goes on sale for cheap or they optimize it loved the first but I’m done being a tester unless I start getting payed for it

  21. DeficientGamer

I actually can’t believe anyone would buy this turd.

  22. NoStructure5034

Do they seriously think that people will keep their game for longer than 10 minutes before refunding when they see that they get sub-10 FPS in the game?

  23. MagikBiscuit

I just can’t believe they said: anything over 30fps is kinda pointless for city builders and they are only targeting 30fps

  24. Paracausal-Charisma

I really want to play but I’ll wait until it is heavily discounted.

They knew the game was not ready and instead of pushing back release, they went for it anyway.

So I won’t be paying more than 20$ for this.

    Shame.

  25. SandorMate

Cries in 6650xt (not bad card, but seeing this post made me sad, i wanted to buy it)

  26. DDGreenTea

The devs even said this game is poorly optimized… There’s no point getting games on day ones now.

  27. Darkmesah

Why should devs optimize their games when they can just expect people to have the most advanced hardware available to run a game that looks like it was released in 2013 at 60fps

  28. IRazor1911I

Thats the reason i dont hop onto the Hype Train.

I dont buy at release, always a year later or even 2 years later.

Even on very good games like elden ring.

Why? It saves money, my back catalaogue is full anyways.

And when i eventually buy them, theyre fixed, have dlcs released, and i even pay less.

So thanks for beta testing guys!

  29. BrikenEnglz

If I buy it on steam and then ask for a refund, will they lose money?

  30. UncleZibb

I just tried this on gamepass and I feel robbed lol

  31. sonofalando

Why is this shit happening? Come the fuck on. We desperately need a video game crash like the 80s to clean house with these devs.

  32. SinisterCheese

Just turn the AI whatever bollocks on… Haven’t you been told that optimisation doesn’t add value and software is so hard nowadays that no one knows how to optimise it anymore! It is just impossible to do! Besides why optimise when people can just buy better hardware.

But sometimes it is the strangest things that cause problems. BG3 runs without a problem for me, but character creation/leveling menu just cranks my CPU and GPU to basically max. My 3060TI turned to a god damn turbine and my 4060TI (I wanted the Vram alright!) needs to starts spin fans because it went from 36C to 60C. I don’t get what is so demanding about that when the game runs just fine on Max everything elsewhere.

This issue isn’t exclusive to gaming btw. It is also a constant fucking burden in engineering programs like CAD. They run just aswell today as they did 20 years ago. Which sounds impressive, until you realise that average PC back then was like 2½ghz Pentinum, 1gb of ram and 200gb clay tablets as HDD and 1024×768 particile accelerator known as CRT as a screen.

I don’t even understand how it is possible that simple web store page can lag a decent computer or how a mid-range phone just can’t fucking run some basic mobile web page. What the fuck do all these big € earning coders and engineers do all day?! If I engineered steel products like software is being made I’d be laughed out from everything but the construction industry (Which I happen to work for… Glass houses… are popular and I think people should throw stones at them so they stop being made!)

  33. If the main menu runs at 6fps, the end game is turn-based.

  34. steven_cornthrob

any game dev targeting hardware that doesn’t even exist yet isn’t getting my money

  35. reichjef

What happened? Is paradox struggling? Are they about to go under? There seems to be large problems with their last 5 releases or so.

  36. Big-fat-boy

It could run better on my i9/4090… but guys… what the actual, you know what, with graphics? It looks like Cities: Skylines 0.5, not 2. :O
