Yea im not sure what you mean, that still seems to be the standard.

  2. Is it supposed to be that low? Guess I’ll lower my desk when I get home

  3. ArmadilloLight

I will sit like a question mark and you can’t stop me

  4. Heavyoak

Jokes on them my chair actually supports my whole back

Good image, bad title. Nothing happened to it, it’s still the advice I give everyone who asks me about sitting position, and they all say it solved some form of discomfort after long work sessions. The only thing that this image is missing, is the tilt of the monitor, as I tilt it backwards so that it faces me as straight on as possible.

how do you actually hold such a position for a longer timeframe? I always sit like a shrimp after 5 minutes. And I never sat comfortable for a long time in my life. Just this morning at the doc older people sat perfectly straight for 50 minutes and I was like brakedancing on my chair lol

Also, for a great posture, don’t forget your parrot

  8. PathlessBullet

I was taught that your eyes should be centered on the screen.

Nothing. Still industry standard in most places, and doubly so for any business utilizing any kind of ergo basics.

My monitor is 32″ so I can’t really have it like that, plus my chair is not very ergonomic per se, so I don’t really sit like I should. This leads to shoulder pain, back pain, neck pain, and whatever other aches a human can experience. Planning on getting a mesh office chair, but everything is so expensive here.

That advice is based on the idea that people are typing on a computer.

  12. Hopeful-Ad8964

The good old days where they would preach about that stuff in computer class. No one never took it serious and now look at me with my scoliosis.

  13. I don’t remember where I saw this, but I recall reading that it’s better to just shift your position to a comfortable one every so often. Sitting in one position for a long time isn’t ever good.

I just sit however and move around a lot, or stand.

I think it went away with the popularity of battery powered headphones, as looking downward at your monitor with a weight on your head gives you neck pain.

  15. H-Man991

Knees bent like that hurt me gotta have my legs straight sadly

  16. Ciusblade

this is actually roughtly where i have it set up. might be a hair higher than that.

  17. Fstmiddy

Good for working. Gaming is a different story. I really don’t have an issue adjusting my monitor based on need.

yeah but then I can’t use my risers. and if I can’t use my risers, I have nothing to hide all the junk on my desk under

  19. siralmasy

me playing counter-strike looking down at the middle of the crosshair getting some neck pains

  20. My ergonomics guy at work always says: “the best position is the next position”

Just dont sit still for the whole day. sit how you find comfortable and move a bit every few minutes.

What’s this advice even for? Reading the window header?

I keep my monitor at a height where my eye level is the center of the screen when sitting with my back straight.

  22. It still exists. If you are not following it regularly, then you are setting yourself up for back pain in pinched nerves as you reach your 40s and 50s.

Meanwhile, the average pc user (me included)

  24. faverodefavero

I like eye level at the center of the screen.

  25. Nauty_YT

Correction eye level is supposed to be just above the middle on your screen.

  26. Tarc_Axiiom

    Nothing?

It’s still the scientifically proven correct advice.
