It really depends on what ending you got, but you cannot fault her for doing what anyone else would – anything to get out of a shitty situation.

Tragic Villain. She’s had to do alot of bad things to alot of bad people, gotten innocent people killed in the crossfire; and was put in that position by Myers and Reed. She has no one she can trust, and desperate to save herself.
And personally, I feel like that’s the theme of PL. Trust.

Up until the very end I didn’t trust her. I didn’t trust reed either though. Figured both would betray me in the end anyway so at that point I had nothing to lose, but she did. So I sided with her. Hearing reeds and myers conversation as well made me realise she was just an instrument to them but so was reed at that point. Then the gut punch when she finally admitted it, like V says, if she’d told me the truth I’d have helped her anyway after learning everything.
Desperate people do desperate things. This was her one and only chance to escape that life and she took it. I think she’s genuinely sorry at the end as she didn’t have to tell you and she gave you the opportunity to turn her in. She could have just got on the ship and never looked back.
I think I made the right decision rescuing her and don’t know if I could ever do a playthrough where I don’t. As much as she lied about everything, in the end I just felt sorry for her.

It feels like such a different experience. If you don’t trust her, she almost understands it? And you feel bad, but like you’ve done the right thing, Reed is hiding something, but he’s human. >! When you do the NUSA main ending, he’s almost like someone you can’t fully trust, but you’re safe around !<
If you fully trust her, it makes Reed feel super manipulative. And that So Mi is in such a state where it’s reasonable. >! And even though she betrays you, you can understand since you’re in the same position, just in different circumstances !<
Just having different viewpoints made her feel extremely in depth, honestly being one of CD PR’s greatest characters. She’s an amazing character, and a perfect character in a Cyberpunk world

I dont hate her, and to a degree, I understand why she would make the choices that she did, but it seems like she didn’t want the consequences of said choices. Yes, she was manipulated, but she’s smart enough to understand that she was.
She also lies and commits atrocities for the sake of herself, and again, she’s smart enough to understand that. I feel sad that she had a difficult life, but I can’t condone her behavior in the slightest, especially towards V. She was essentially free after the chimera incident, and had she trusted us (like we trusted her), we could have found a common ground somewhere for a cure. Instead, she went along with Kurt, lied to us a multitude of times, but still expected sympathy.
This is a pet-peeve for me in real life. Essentially, not keeping the energy you give out. Dont make us the bad guy for betraying you when that’s all you’ve been doing and continue to do. So her flashback, while sad, kinda rang hollow for me.
The best ending, imo is mercy killing her. She also kinda gives me if Lucy never met the edgerunners vibes.

Mostly I feel sorry for her. She’s a bit of a parallel to V, if they were dying but unable to act themselves openly.
Overall my opinion was initially finding her very sketchy – made me suspicious of her actual motives, and she seemed to be pretty much manipulating you. But once we got to her revealing more of the reasoning behind it – that she’s trying to get free of the NUSA and not die, and the Blackwall connection… well, at that point I got a lot more understanding.
The reveal in the ending portions – that the AI can only be used to cure one of you – is not too surprising to me, but also didn’t change my opinion of her. She’s backed into a corner, and basically trusts V as far as she can anyone else. Giving her a second chance is a hopeful ending I feel, and in universe the solution doesn’t sound as guaranteed to work on V (while we know from the ending that it does work, at the moment of the decision I think it’s up in the air).

I knew getting help was too good to be true, so since the very beginning I was skeptical about her. Turns out she turned on Reed for recruiting and training her? Which i understand she didnt want that, but Reed never had bad intentions. After essentially leaving him for dead on the train, its clear to me she was just a trigger happy bitch with a petty grudge.
I went with Reed, knowing full well he was a NUSA puppet, but i at least knew he never wanted to do anything to physically hurt or torment Songbird- even after the events that unfolded on that train 7 years prior.
Ended up saving So Mi after she went full haywire on us (that horrorbot gives me PTSD but that was such a well designed level). Reed seemed so depressed that he let her down. When the president came to give me a medal i basically told her to fuck off. I knew she was the schematic mastermind to this entire disastrous shit-show of a debacle.
I got the “Who wants to live forever” main game ending where im told by Reed i can get fixed up properly. Ive played it, i have my thoughts, so i will warn that there are spoilers ahead.
>! You basically become a full organic no-chrome vegetable after the surgery. You wake up after a 2-year coma. All of your friends either moved on, forgot about you, or couldnt care less that you’re still alive. You go back to Vik in NC and hes accepted the corpo lifestyle and basically became a sellout. He cant fix you up, NUSA basically nerfs V to oblivion to become as useless as the average Joe asking for chump change in the alleys. You leave his clinic all depressed and down, feeling hopeless. Misty disagreed with Vik’s whole situation, so she up and left basically. You see V get jumped and knocked out by some barebones thugs (i think you can talk it out, but i might have fucked that up lol) they would normally flatline within a second. Misty comes from nowhere, wakes you up and helps you up. Talks to you for a bit, says shes moving to Poland. You walk her to her car and basically let her go. You only really have Vik and that didnt even end all too well. The final cutscene pan’s to post-surgery buzzcut V just walking off into the crowd, blending in like a regular NPC. This ending was so well written and really leaves you absolutely gutted, but i dont think it’s canon. I do like theres another ending, and it tugs at your heart strings talking to your friends almost forget about you over the phone at langley. Its not what i was expecting, it was just so fucking gutting. I have a theory that V goes back to Langley and accepts the desk job that Reed offered after V woke up from the coma. I also heard somewhere that V was nerfed by NUSA because shes seen as a “threat”, but when they need a sleeper agent, they can chrome you out and send you out on missions under their control, which is everything Johnny was against. Its just depressing as fuck tbh. !<

She learns nothing if you help her, and I don’t think she deserves to escape the consequences of her actions. She chose to use the Blackwall, go through with all those body modifications, and put her survival before everything and everyone.
If you help her, up until the end, it feels like she is manipulating you, going as far as telling the truth only when we can’t really confront her about it. You don’t even get to discuss many details or ask that many questions if you side with her. You actually learn more about her by siding with Reed.
By the end, we don’t even get properly contacted by her in any meaningful way. She may just have become a puppet of the Blackwall and sends us some kind of “payment” to clear her conscience.
