Once you hit the midgame at level 40, crafting materials aren’t really much of a problem anymore. Doubly so, if you’re a Netrunner and hit every access point you can, you’ll have a bunch of money from selling duplicate quickhacks.

“Refund” it says on the screen. Good Idea 😉
Not sure if it can be felt, some “loot” is hidden in the Broken Weapons which loot text scroll over so fast, hardly time to read them.

If it was at least from dismantling it would be nice
ArcadianAbstraction
This used to be kind of good with everything you get from cracking dataterms. However with all of the updates it got shuffled off into uselessness.

With free respec, I just constantly float 1 point in this, move it to bonus choices for upgrading at ripperdoc, and then move back to more mats until I got to a point I didn’t need to upgrade anymore.

I don’t know, it’s an early game perk, it’s still got it’s uses, you can always refund it later. I’m sure it would help get your cyberware upgrades faster if you collected enough tier 1 weapons and deconstructed them and upgraded them early enough. Looting + deconstructing = faster upgrades.
Not a priority but deff not a total waste of a perk point.

Now if it gives 25% to disassembling weapons I would be happy. After 2.0 money is never an issue, but after 150 hours I still struggle to 5++ a weapon
JerbearCuddles
You don’t find much mats in the wild. Not to mention I feel like it’s 9 or less. 25% of 9 is fuckin’ garbage. Lol. It’s easier just to keep killing shit and dismantling. Rather than finding an extra 2-3 mats in a sparce few boxes. Perk point can go to killing things easier.
Dragoot
I strongly disagree.
To bring all augmentations to 5++ you need a shit mountain of components.
And it can be revoked at any time, how is that a waste?
Sphinx-
You need a ton of upgrade materials if you want to upgrade your gear though, so it’s not a total loss perk at all.
Statuabyss
Yes, as all perks related to crafting are in a single player video game.
They deleted almost all of them in 2.0, I don’t know why this one survived
archiegamez
Disagree, this is very useful once u get legendary stuff u will need it for upgrading gear and cyberware later
WoodyTSE
Does this perk count towards quickhack components?
If not I might refund it. The access panel reducer skill is basically pointless to have slotted in too, you can just refund something else and get it and then revert after, whenever you need to hack something
das_hans
its a very optional perk. I think it might be worth it if you are trying to grind components early-game and then toss later. its more a convenience feature then an perk imo
Karlito1618
You probably say that because you haven’t had to push a fully equipped cyberware V to 5++. If you have this perk since as early as you can get it, and hoard all your components until you can unlock 5++, it’s still not nearly enough components to do a full upgrade.
It might not seem that much when leveling, but it quickly adds up over the course of a playthrough.
I had this, the netrunner access point perk, and made all clothes into components. I wanted to buy all the cars and apartments etc, so I sold most of my guns. Still nowhere near cyberware end game in terms of components needed. Maybe if you make all guns into components too, idk. And I never crafted anything either.
Ornn5005
It’s a great perk for a big chunk of the game, but it eventually loses utility when you got everything you need upgraded, at which point you can refund it.

Crafting in general kinda sucks.
