I just ordered a couple kit of Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 RAM, 4x 8GB modules, running at 4400MHz C19, featuring Samsung B-die chips.
I decided to upgrade from my previous 16GB G.Skill kit 3600MHz 15-15-15-35.
My primary objective was to increase my system’s RAM to 32GB without sacrificing performance compared to my old memory.
Based on the experiences shared by other users, it appears unlikely that I will be able to use XMP settings with my current configuration.
I’ve come across several videos where people achieved impressive overclocks with this RAM kit, but my goal is to have a very stable and straightforward setup.
Is it possible for me to try configuring the RAM manually, starting with a speed of 3800MHz, adjusting only the CAS latency (CL), tRCD, tRP, tRAS, and the voltage, while leaving the rest of the settings on auto?
For instance, setting it to 3800MHz C15 or 4000MHz C16, and a voltage of 1.45V /1.5V should be reasonable and very stable settings to achieve with my current setup?

If you wanted straightforward, dual rank B-Die wasn’t the way to go. Waste of money if you leave the secondary timings on auto, there is huge performance potential from tuning them.
3800 CL15 or 4000 CL16 is possible if you give the sticks enough voltage, like 1.6. You will want a dedicated RAM fan at that point, otherwise temps may be high enough that you cannot run tight tRFC.
I have 4×8 Viper Steel installed with 13700KF Z790, anything above 3600 is not stable gear 1 unless I bump VDDQ/VCCSA to 1.4v. 3800C15 1.45v should work but I doubt you can run 4 sticks at 4000 gear 1.

Personally i’d go for a DR 2x16gb setup because it’s a little easier to run – there are 4000/4400 cl19 kits out there for a decent price.
