A switch is undoubtedly better for a kid than a PC, depending on the age

I love PCs, and made one for my daughter when she was 10. Trust me, the Switch will give you the easier life, unless for some reason you enjoy removing malware.

Every kid should receive a
console –> laptop –> desktop
pagurobt
it depends on the age

Considering the amount of adults who post here with their various struggles of owning a PC, I dont think a kid should be given one.
Buy a console for your kid and be done with it.

id get my child a switch instead of a pc too. i had access to a pc early on and lets just say i saw a lot of stuff that i shouldnt have been seeing at that age

Just put yuzu on it and the Kids will be happy tgey can play the switch stuff

Good move, a console makes kids lazy, PC also teaches you skills that will be helpful later in life, just make sure you get some good filters for kids in there

Steam deck exists. Halfway point between the two, with access to many more games than the switch, including much cheaper games.
But if your kids like pokemon and animal crossing, switch is probs worth it. Pokemon is awesome.

I dunno man, I like my PC but I don’t wanna have to buy 4 people gaming spec upgrades for the next 20+ years. Switch is a small price to pay to keep the wife and kids happy
aliusman111
Get a new switch 😀 which turns the PC on.
But honestly as long as you don’t mind expensive games the switch is better for kids and sits next to the TV easy to use.
But if so I would wait for the new SWITCH to come out
Hephaestus002
if we take piracy out of the equation, switch is a very nice device
UltimateSWX
Buy them the Steam Deck. That way they can still play Switch games on the go.
WhyNotPc
Even better, get a steam deck. Best of both worlds. Tho I’d rather get them a console, maybe a PS4/Xbox one or maybe if you want to introduce them to actually good games, a ps3/Xbox 360

Bold move. Enjoy at least one month without sex.

Switch for Pokémon, smash bros and mario party/kart for when friends come over, and pc for AAA games and single player
And how about a steam deck?
That doesn’t make a lot of sense, it’s a lot more practical to play as a family on a TV with a console than get a computer for everyone.
