Got a raise at work and just didn’t feel like learning to build a PC myself. The only things I’ve upgraded in the past is GPU and ram lol. Anyways picked this prebuilt up from microcenter a few months ago for $1300 open box (3070ti and i7 13700kf) Thoughts on if this was a good or bad deal?

Did the same for my first pc, nothing to be ashamed about. The beauty of buying a prebuilt that doesn’t use proprietary parts (Ex. Alienware) is that you have an upgrade path, and can learn to build a pc through tinkering with your current prebuilt.
Same here, got marginalized by elitists so I see it as an absolute win.

Yeah I got a prebuilt earlier this year to relate my 10 year old laptop. Nothing wrong with it. If nothing else gives you a good base to look into upgrading parts yourself in the future.
Many start with prebuilts. The guy who taught me PCs, he gave me one of his in the early 80s. It *frankensteined* it over the years. Then I bought my first prebuilt PC and did the same over time. Until I built my own in the late 90s.
The whole community celebrate you because you do not had the crappy cable issues and the cuts in your fingers😅
Buying a $1000 prebuilt every 2-3 years can be a lot more viable than buying a $4000 custom built every 4.
It took me a year to save and buy everything on my build list, only to see prebuilt pc’s online with better specs, and for less money. Industry moves pretty fast. Enjoy your new pc! Nice setup!

Mate I know computer science graduates who buy pre builds so it’s all good. Whether you got a good deal or not is a different matter lol
I got a MicroCenter [prebuilt](https://www.microcenter.com/product/629573/powerspec-g467-gaming-pc) during the COVID GPU shortage to replace my old PC. It was better to just get a new PC instead of my old one being a [Ship of Theseus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_of_Theseus).
The MicroCenter prebuilts can get pricey for the higher end ones, but they’re still really good.

Well that is one way to go for it but imagine the control and understanding you would have had if you built your own 🙂 you could exactly decide what you want for your needs and also paid less 🙂 I mean obviously it’s your choice, if you are Happy that is all it matters.
I’ve built my last 6 PCs over the last 20 years and I’m at the point in my life now that my next one will be a pre-built too lol. Honestly not worth the stress about it not turning on or doing something wrong when I can have Microcenter do it and have troubleshooting onus on them

That’s not bad at all. The only “bad” pre- builts are the Alienware type things that have proprietary hardware designed to keep you from upgrading. They often use their own components like motherboards that you can’t buy anywhere and have special connectors. PSUs with different pin outs so you can’t replace or reuse them. Even special cooling systems that are sometimes built right into the case and still suck.
What you bought is using the same parts anyone that builds it themselves can. Anything can be replaced or upgraded. You might have paid a little more to have it assembled but there’s nothing wrong with that unless you’re getting ripped off.
There’s a few Microcenter pre-builds at my work and they pretty nice too.

there is prebuilt and prebuilt. if its not a fucking alienware selling a fucking 1060 for 3000 dollars then im happy for you xd
