it is a small brass ‘insert’ that a screw threads into
the plastic it is ‘inserted’ in has cracked and separated from the chassis
I have used epoxy, in the past, to reattach these (lightly clamp it until epoxy sets up)
That’s a screw hole. I’m not sure what they’re called but you screw screws into it.
I have no idea whats wrong with your sound but i doubt this is related.
This thing was probably pushing something inside the laptop causing that noise to appear

It looks like a Chinese made Flux capacitor. They are cheaply made and break easy. No big deal. You are just stuck when you are.
High chance its ur monitor hinge standoff.

Like the previous comments said it is a screw hole. I have a similar laptop a Y series from lenovo and I had the same thing happen. As a matter in fact I had that happen maybe three times. Whatever plastic they use doesn’t seem very strong. I never glued mine together and it flexes at the bottom but still seems to work okay.
I would shake the laptop with the lowercase off to make sure there is nothing loose in there that would hit the spinning fan. Also check the fan screws. They sometimes fall off on that model and kills the motherboard
screw grommet, holds part of the laptop palmrest and base together, likely near a hinge as those tend to break the most. If it’s just one you should be fine but keep an eye out if your laptop starts to separate esp at the hinges.
