I recently went back a played MOTD (solo) for the first time in a while and I still absolutely fucking adore this map. But one thing I realized is that MOTD is easy, like **EXCEPTIONALLY** easy. I’m not sure if it’s just me and my Origins,GK/Bo1 grinding as of recently, but MOTD seemed very easy compared to a lot of zombies maps spanning WaW-Bo4. Which isn’t a bad thing at all, I’m just rather intrigued because this map is one of the more difficult maps I had played in my kid mindset.
I think a good portion of it has to do with the regeneration of Afterlives after every round with a max of 3 allotted to you in solo. I was careless with downs on early rounds holding a nade and maximizing my Afterlife utilization because I knew I had 3 in the reserve, but once I got set up it just seemed virtually impossible to down/die in MOTD because of the system.
This isn’t a knock on Afterlife cause I fucking love the system, but it does offer the question of what MOTD would be like with a SoE-esque ritual piers being the sole method to Afterlife rather than just being able to down and have a get-out of jail free card.

Afterlife ruined MOTD for me, specifically for solo (how I normally play). Having one come back at the start of every round removes almost all of the challenge. You can triple down on one round, then at the start of the next round you can go down again. Don’t go down for two more rounds and on the start of the third round after your down you can afford to take a triple down again. Beast Mode from SOE did it much better.

I think Mob is very difficult so the afterlife feature works, based on the comments that doesn’t seem to be the general consensus though. It may be why Mob seems to be polarizing nowadays

Allows for better perk variety, even though the map has like 5 perks

I think it’s a nice idea for a map, or maybe one future map, but I do not really like it tbh, something about it just feels odd, maybe it is just me generally not liking when you, in some way, play another “thing” or character outside of the one you start with in the same match in any game – idk it throws me off.
