2nd gen i5, works ok for a low budget rig still with like a gtx 750 ti or gt 1030 & 16 GB ram.
If you happen to get a motherboard with a z68 or z77 chipset you can get max turbo up to 3.9 GHz which helps a bit with performance.

Used one myself between january 2017 to march 2021 before I switched it to an i5 2500k at 4.5 GHz & then built a newer system December 2022 with a Ryzen 5600 & keeping my gtx 1660 super I bought first week of October 2020.

  2. Nice! Seen some old CPU’s and GPU’s turned into nice desk ornaments but gotta ask, from what ancient ruin did your professor find this relic?!

That would actually be a great cpu for a legacy build like windows XP or windows 7

Wait Costa Rica? I’m guessing different countries have different suppliers cause I’ve got 3 gens of i5-chips laid out in front of me starting at i5-2400 and they’re all made in Malaysia

He should have given you a Xeon so you could heat your apartment.
