The nvme slot is perfectly fine, it’s the rest of the board that’s wonky.
Looks like other components got in the way or they could do it straight, but the screw will be to close to the heatpipe. At leats it’s a removable and thus upgradeable NVMe slot and not soldered.
My OCD can’t handle this…..

Most likely it’s a revised motherboard for which they wanted to add an NVMe
It does feel “wrong” to look at, but onjectively this is excellent design and good use of the space available.
