Mate thats no power supply. Thats a bomb.

  2. I’d never use that power supply. The chance of it taking some components with it upon death is very high.

  3. John_Mat8882

18a*12v makes 216w. Immediately grab a decent PSU from the likes of Antec EA Pro Gold, CM MWE gold V2, Corsair CX-F or TX.. or other non-bomb PSUs.

  4. 18A * 12V ~ 216W

    It’s not anywhere near 600W.

Good power supplies have 90~100% on 12V rail.

So effectively like 250W power supply being generous.

  5. Exciting-Flan-1484

    220v input at 3a is 660w, assuming about 70-80% efficiency it’s about 600w yeah

  6. snake_eater4526

What the hell, why the 5v rail have so much amps available but the main 12v only 18 😂😂😂

  7. Holy shit that’s old.

No, it is not 600 watt.

It is 216 watts, we only care about what the 12V rail can deliver.

It’s so old that much of its capacity is on the 5V rail (140W) and 3.3V rail (46W). Heck, even adding them up still only gets me to 402 watts.

It’s e-waste. It will not power a modern system, even very low end, safely.

The Power supply unit is the ONLY thing you don’t want to cheap out on if you like your pc, house and maybe even your life

  9. Natural-You4322

Ha. I won’t even trust it for low power system.

  10. msanangelo

send it to LTT Labs and find out. 😛

    that’s a lot of 5v power though.

*slaps psu* you can power so many ssds with that thing.

  11. Revo_Int92

The irony, I literally bought a gamemax PSU last week, already arrived, installed, etc.. it’s working fine on my end, doesn’t seem to be a trashy brand. However, this particular PSU you posted, it looks ancient, it’s not really 600w, no way

  12. LuckyGamer470

Bro that things 216 watts on the 12 volt rail

  13. riba2233

It can barely supply good 200W. Don’t use it, is most probably 2005 era tech.

  14. UserNameTaken96Hours

Looks like they used the input for their label.
“220V at 3A… Eh close enough let’s call it 600W”

Seeing as max output across all available PC voltages is about 400ish W, it has absolute shit efficiency.

Very old, very inefficient, probably somewhat dangerous. Get something new. My go to is usually seasonic prime or focus.

  15. JMccovery

A lot of these comments make me feel ancient.

Makes me wonder how people will react to an AT form factor PSU.

  16. EternalSkullman

Rebranded Colorsit PSU. 330W is the maximum it will do.

  17. BaephBush

How do manufacturers get away with crap like this?

all you need to know is that Gamemax as a COMPANY are listed under “Tier F – Replace immediately”. That basically makes it a fire hazard, please listen to cultists network lmao.

  19. Cogin_sidemee

I was thinking about getting a gamemax PSU, but decided it’s a horrible idea to cheap out. Unlucky you. It’s some sketchy cover up name of an already bad-rep Chinese brand which makes literal shit products.

  20. Cheefnuggs

Everyone should just buy Corsair RMx series PSU’s and stop making these posts

  21. ryzen-5-1600af

I honestly have no idea how the 600w is even written on it since it can give out maximum of 216w on 12v rail and 140w on 5v rail. More of a bomb than something that should power your pc

  22. If a power supply doesn’t have (at least)the 80 bronze quality, don’t use it

  23. Lex_0407

It is a power supply made by a Chinese vendor they literally send out a few good ones to and then reimburse the people who give them a good rating after about a month they may or may not die. Side note they also stop sending out functional power supplies after the first 100 reviews. Only reason I know is they sent one to me and offered me the whole reimbursement I then stress tested both the power supplies that I got reimbursed from them one works and is exactly as advertised the other is a paperweight after a month. But based on sales they spent about 1-2 grand with their reimbursements but robbed about 10-20 grand via the good review method.

  24. inarius1984

I would never trust a power supply from a company I’ve never heard of. You don’t go cheap on the power supply.

  25. Sfearox1

Its probably more like the models name. 330watts. Please throw it away

  26. Asleeper135

I’ve heard nothing good about Gamemax, and the fact that it says “switching power supply” as if that’s something special (all modern PSUs are) does not bode well.

  27. SnuffleWumpkins

Never has a Caution: Hazardous Area warning been so appropriate.

    Take your family and flee.

  28. DocGerbill

It will pull 600W from the wall, but only delivery like 400 to your PC, I would definitely not use it, just buy an 80Gold modular power supply, they’re not that expensive.

  29. yurtmandamn

“600 watt switching power” yea it will hit you hard with the 600 watts worth of explosion it will cause

  30. GoldenPuffi

There is one rule above all other things in pc building:

NEVER cheap out on your PSU. This thing is able to fry all of your components or burn down a house.

I’d rather take a worse gpu then some cheap psu.
