Hey everyone. I’m pretty new to overclocking and I wanted to try and get more performance out of my Ryzen 9 5900X a bit. (After doing a couple days worth of research, I enabled PBO and Curve optimizer in Ryzen master (PBO also enabled on my MoBo).

Im currently running a throttle test in Cinebench R24 to see where I’m limited and the results have left me a bit confused.

My PPT is limited at 500W, and both TDC and EDC are limited to 200A. I have an MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Max WiFi motherboard and I’m wondering if it would be possible (and safe) to increase the EDC limit at all. Any and all advice is much appreciated!

Oh, I realize that I failed to mention what confused me.

If I’m understanding correctly, PBO should increase core clock until I hit thermal limit (or rather, start throttling back as I near my thermal limit). Considering this chip has a rated boost of 4.9Mhz, I’m confused by the starkly lower peak speed shown in the screenshot of about 4.5Mhz while my temps never break 75.

Am I being limited by the maxed out EDC? And if so, it leads me to the question I put in the post above
