Counter-Strike 2

Valve: Solve the Counter Strike 2 cheating problems, RIGHT NOW! #cs2

My plea to valve on behalf of all of us:

WE NEED TO FIX THE CHEATING ISSUE RIGHT NOW.

Counter Strke 2 easily has the potential to be as good or better than CSGO ever was.

If your first hand experience is awful cause of a bunch of deluded cheating c*nts, then we risk losing out on an entire generation of CS players.

We can’t afford that.

We open 30+ million cases a month, we play your game, we love your game, it’s great.

Please let us do that with and against people who play the game for the right reasons as well.

F*ck the cheaters

Valve help us out.

  1. ive been playing csgo for almost a decade. the recent cs2 is filled with hackers and has sucked out the joy out of the game it has even made me switch to valorant for first time due to it having a great anti cheat until then i hope valve fixes this issue asap

  2. Anti cheat like valorant i do not mind in cs2 cus it works really well for them. played valorant for 2 years and never encountered a cheater not once. But in cs2 i already seen them.

  3. An equally important problem is the balance of the rating and everything connected with it in premiere mode. I lost 4 games in a row and lost over a thousand points, after winning I got 120 points and deleted this crap. Besides that, 2 of the 4 games I lost I was in first place and all 4 games were with idiots on the team without microphones. Damn it! You have billions of dollars and 20 years of experience, do something about it!

  4. Before CS2 was a thing (I also got the beta 3 months before the official CS2 release), i never really asked for it. All I ever asked for was valve to implement 128 tick servers on their official servers, to improve their mm ranking systems(like they did with premiere mm rn) and to fix the goddamn ANTI-CHEAT !! That was all I really asked for and cared about because to me, CSGO was already a near perfect game with all the near perfect game mechanics like gunplay and movement. But I get it that Valve wanted to revitalize their game by creating CS2 and it worked, but I truly fear this magic and hype will die down as quickly as it was released because they just don't address one of if not the most important issue in CS since time immemorial.

  5. i switched to valorant since release. since then i've met 4 cheaters. one of them got banned mid game. 3 others got banned after the reports. 4 cheaters is also the amount i came across during my 6 days of playing cs2. that tells you something.

  6. I must add that same poor experience is happening in a regular MM.
I start game and I get new accounts and they are new to the game. I have 9k hours. That is not fair to them.
Valve must do something with regular MM, not premier.
And yea, normal MM is much better cause 99% of the cheaters are on premier xD

  7. CSGO was 90% unplayable due to griefers, smurfs and idiotic cheaters.
    So is CS2… Holy f 🤯

  8. Cheaters aren't the only issue if you ask me. When you get below a certain rating, cheaters aren't really anywhere. I used to be global in CSGO but got 3.5k after 10 wins and 4 losses in CS2. The main issue I have had isn't cheaters but griefers nearly every single game. One example: Yesterday I asked green if he for this round wouldn't smoke mid on Overpass so I could make a quick peek and maybe if im lucky, get a quick kill so the round is 5v4. His response? He said: "I can do whatever the fuck I want!" and proceeded to kill me after we had left spawn and take my AWP. Another example: yesterday I had a different match where we lost the pistol and the subsequent round. Yellow on my team said "gg" in chat, went idle in spawn and started to text our positions in chat while his friend started shooting fruits and vegetables on Inferno. These are just 2 out of the ~40 times I've had griefing games since launch.
Hell the 4 losses I got in my rating defining period were because 1 guy didn't want to play whatever map we got so he logged off without abandoning during warmup. We had to wait 15+ minutes for the "Waiting 3 minutes for X person to log in again" in all 4 games until 1 guy just decided for us all that we have to surrender. We played 4vs5 in 1 of the 4 losses and the others we played 3v5 because the guy waiting to surrender didn't play. Even worse in the 4vs5 where 1 guy surrendered, we were at 11-3 and beating the opponents but when the vote came up 1 guy chose to surrender for us.
I think the setup they have right now is absolutely dog shit. It's not fun, the game is not entertaining, its not fun and its not exciting at all when the community itself makes everything so bad. If a guy leaves in warmup or the first few rounds – make a timeout that is 3 or 5 minutes long, so that we don't have to wait the literal 15 minutes it currently takes – if that player doesn't reconnect in that period, give them a cooldown and straight out cancel the match. no winners and no losers.

Anyways – if we can find a way where the Anti-Cheat makes Valve money, they'll make it happen. but for now it doesn't generate money for them so they don't care one fucking shit about making it work. All they care about is what looks fun like Michael Jackson peek so they can meme it on their twitter and basically everything else they are silent about. This is now where Valve shouldn't be the silent valve, but actually communicate their intentions and roadmap. Roadmap doesn't even need to have dates on it. Just so we know what is going on because right now, what they have done is delete a game full of content and replaced it with a game that might look a lot better but its still a beta lacking so much content.

I can't wait for the usual "We apologize for releasing an unfinished game" by valve, but we know they don't care one bit enough about us to actually do such a thing. It wont make more money for them to do so why would they?

  9. Pimp, you are a hero for voicing out! Valve needs to step up or this game will be ruin. There is no point spending hours grinding Elo, only to lose it all to a bunch of cheaters. We don't deserve that. We spend our precious time getting good, improving our skills only to get destroyed by cheaters. Valve you either do something or people will eventually walk away from CS2. It's just not worth our time.

  10. The day Counterstrike introduces an invasive anti-cheat is the day I stop playing. Never played on face-it or Valorant and I never will. I also want the cheating to be solved but giving up to an invasive anti-cheat is not something I will do.

  11. Realistically the people working on anticheat and vacnet are completely different developers. The average developer is not specialised enough to be able to make an anticheat good enough to solve the issue.

The reason I'm saying this, it seems like your argument is partially based on the fact that they're updating the game a lot. This is unrelated to the anticheat. Development can be a lot more specialised than you think.

I do hope valve is working on it, and they really should. But they probably are, seeing updates on other stuff is simply no indication at all. There's a decent change valve is super resource limited, not in terms of money but in people. It takes a super skilled team of data analists and system programmers to figure out a good way to detect cheaters and it's a constant battle. People good enough to do this are not easy to come by

  12. Getting into CS2 and finding 1 in 10 or more are cheating is very disheartening. I won't lie – I have only 13 hours in CS2 but 4300 in CSGO. CS2 is nearly unplayable with all the cheaters.

  13. Pros and content creators needs to stop complaining about cheaters, they are in every mp game and they are many steps ahead of ac. Game devs just can play catch up with them, which is sad, but true🙃

  14. 4 games today all 4 had cheaters teaming together talking shit and being so obvious. its absolutely disheartening. if it just had an ac…

  15. cs2 is still miles away from other games, especially warzone, everyone can relax 🙂

  16. They don't give a fuck, as long as you have third party such as Faceit and ESEA nothing will ever change.

  17. as a player coming from valorant, valorant has much better anti cheat system and I wont be coming back to cs2 until cheating is solved in cs2

  18. These people who makes the cheating software are absolutely brilliant at what they do, and since they make money from doing it, they won't stop. I suggest that Valve employs some of these kids and pay them a really f'in good salary so maybe helping the community would be a more interesting job since they know how to walk around valves software from the beginning. Valve, pls employ…

  19. Thank you so much for coming out and speaking about the true #1 issue and giving credit to Valve for actually doing well with the game. Especially me as a player who has to deal with 95% of the games being against cheaters or having a cheater on my team ( I team kill them ). I don't have the platform to give out a logical and unfortunate situation that we have to endure to enjoy the game. To push something that the game so desperately needs because this game gives me the same itch I used to get back in 2012-2014 and it sucks a lot. Like you said, this game is doing very well especially with the consistent updates. To only imagine what it would be like fully polished and at its prime. They can't have the anti-cheat be like it was in csgo and that's the biggest thing that's killing the game right now. They need to give out hardware bans and give out true punishments to cheaters instead of just blocking the steam account and letting them buy/create new ones. Make valve intrusive so the hardware cheaters are not rampant. If I check ONE discord server for hardware it has 10k+ users just for cs2 ALONE it's absolutely ridiculous. It's all easier said then done but I hope they strive to do something. I wouldn't mind paying $5 a month for a good anti-cheat to fund the development for vac and to help pay wages because ik a good anti-cheat is the most expesive part of a competitive fps shooter. Also to keep the integrity of premiere true, have the top players on the leader board be monitored by a real person.

  20. I hope this message go thru.. i have fought these cheaters for long time now… game is absolute unplayable and i havent played in a couple weeks cuz of it, not sure when i return.. but they need to fix this issue first. One ban and they out for good from cs community gets my vote. No matter which game mode you cheat, one tap you are out. No new account either.

  21. Or just let cheaters be, but they play against other cheaters only, that's fair for both who wanna play fair, and for who wants to play with cheats. The limit is truly when cheaters want to act like parasites against people who want to play fair. Now how is Valve going to implement this? I have no clue, but this would be a solution to make everyone happy. Except for the cheaters who want to ruin the game for fair players, but those can f off cuz they don't have the right to ruin other people's games.

  22. It would all be fine if CSGO was still next to it in my Steam library. CS2 will be the better game some day but right now it can't function as a replacement in every aspect that made us fall in love with the game in the first place.

  23. what is the mouse that you have? is it good for cs2 ? it seems like the aerox from steelseries?

  24. Good to see this kind of feedback but unless Valve surprises all of us and does a hard 180 on their vision for Anticheats don't expect any kernel level anticheat especially because of the Linux platform and its users which Valve are heavily invested into growing to one day replace Windows as a gamers first choice for an OS. They may drop a statement that vaguely says "we hear you" but I expect them to keep continueing their efforts to build the AI machine to combat the problem, in the long term it is a bigger solution. Valves other solution is to find cheats that are DRM required and sort of price users out of those cheats so the cheat makers see less return on the amount of development cost it takes to make them as these cheats need DRM to function so they can see a monthly payment in the hundreds of dollars to use the cheats.

  25. I'm playing with so many toxics against cheaters in Europe that I started playing with a VPN and I DON'T GIVE A DAMN if I have 150+ ping. IT'S still much better playing away from them and loosing than hearing/supporting them. (This is also true to low-level Faceit….like Slavic countries get cheats in chips bags for free).

PS: I have a high trust factor, more than 7000 hours in the game (had one account with 5000, "new" account has 2000 REAL IN-GAME hours), I was admin on many community servers (from CS 1.6 to CS:GO, I banned hundreds of cheaters from the servers, so I know when I see a cheater, it's NOT just "I'm bad, so everybody better than me is cheating" => saying this because I'm low-level Faceit (can't rank up without team, becuase I play at night when the toxics are more), and in CS:GO I was jumping ranks from MGE to GN1 in a matter of few days (and grinded myself up in a few months again)). I just want to enjoy the game in a non-toxic environment with as few cheaters as possible.

  26. I reported a cheater who is streaming live on Youtube nearly every day and even sells cheats. Valve doesn't ban his accounts. I don't know if there are silent bans or sth which would make sense. I guess they just don't care at this point. The release is a joke. Can't wait for IEM…

  27. It's a tough position for me personally after I got false vac banned, and I feel a more intrusive anti cheat would lead to even more false bans. This becomes worse when you look at how horrible it is for people to get unbanned, whether its valves "No ban will ever be revoked, because we always make the right decision" or the community's stubborn unwillingness to accept that vac actually has and continues to ban innocent players. Whilst I 100% hands down agree that cheating is a massive problem right now and needs to be taken care of, I think that these issues should be resolved first.

  28. I'd also like to add that when Pimp says "we already use invasive anticheats" well speak for yourself, I don't play Valorant because of its OS level kernel anticheat, I don't feel comfortable having to restart my computer so the application can run in OS level just so I can play an hour of a video game. Riot is owned by Tencent who is a big simp to the CCP, I don't feel comfortable giving that much access to my computer to China while I play a video game. Valve also doesn't support this direction, they believe a PC is personal and they should do what they can to respect peoples privacy. Gabe Newell had a Reddit post about this.

  29. Valve oh valve, one time you promises ,,What you see is what you get.,, and you fuckd up and now second time i guess you think is ,,What you did is what you get.,, BUT IS NOT WORKING FOR CHEATERS BRUHS!!!! -.- VALVE FIX THIS SHIT!

  30. dead game…. didnt even started and its dead af xDDD what an epic fail of bunch of idiots making decisions 2:23 if you make sure to open more cases so gaben can buy one more yacht and shit on you KEKW

  31. I've spent thousands of dollars on this game so I second this. I want the game's future to be bright and if that means an invasive anti-cheat this isn't and shouldn't be an issue for honest players who are focusing on the game.
