Considering it was an Arosaka Penthouse for an executive I’m sure they have some sort of recording, blocking gadget or whatever to stop something like that from happening due to espionage

Regular recordings can be faked easily in 2077 and V doesn’t have a BD recording implant so even if just rec it would have been useless, and probably have lead yorinobu to find us sooner if the rec would go live

You remember that part of the game shortly after this scene where V dies and gets rebooted by the relic. It’s reasonable to assume that any video recording of the events probably got fried in the process. Also, it’d be a pretty short and boring game if V just went to a news channel and handed over a tape of the murder and said “case closed!”

However he currently has the most power and influence as basically the heir of the empire. So no one wants to fuck with him unless they want to tango with adam smasher.
Is V stupid? Yes, V is kind of dumb. Going through the game, V asks a lot of dumb shit. It’s one of the things Johnny teases them about. V was also a pretty low level petty criminal before they returned to NC and probably were shitting their pants.
But yeah, V is honestly like average intelligence.

Imagine if V had shot Yorinobu in the leg through the screen, or had come out of the box to interrupt. I have my doubts Saburo would have shown any gratitude, but I could potentially see them being dismissed to leave quickly (or at least, a head start to escape) if they straight up said they were thieves.
Saburo is sharp enough to surmise they were their for the Relic but if V surrendered it immediately, Daddysaka might have let them go seeing them as vermin not worth killing.

The whole thing is stupid. V not being hunted down after being in the vicinity of the death of Saburo is just ridiculous, you just have to not think too hard about the whole scene in general.
