I think at this rate I’m going to forever be playing Xbox 360 & PS3 era games as they were somewhat built with care and weren’t just about cranking another title out to appease shareholders..

I mean seriously you would think as time goes on technology would get better but it literally regresses with games nowadays!
go boot up base game FALLOUT 3 and try to tell me that Starfield has more content or is more immersive.

Why is it that I can blow limbs off of people on a game made in 2008! But a game in 2023 ON THE SAME EXACT FOSSIL ENGINE SINCE MORROWIND cant..

It’s honestly a joke because after all the money these company’s make they just sit on it and don’t put it towards ACTUAL INNOVATION, the new cool trend in town is release a game for $70 FULL PRiCE because we obviously need the extra $10 our children are starving..

So now with the extra money they are asking they then put out a game with barely any features even though they have tons of games to look back on for ideas (they literally make the same game every time with Forza but with better physics, this also applies to ANY sports game) and people gobble it all up like it’s so amazing and tell all their friends who see the lacking features from the previous game to “don’t worry more features are coming in the Fall/Winter/Spring” I’m so fed up with this industry anymore. Rant over

Being able to push patches at any point for any reason after the launch means that you can launch in any condition you want, and since people will pay anyway, why even bother.

The hyper corporatisation of video games. Money > Quality.

You’re not playing the right games.

Baldur’s Gate 3, Armored Core 6, Cyberpunk 2.0/DLC all also came out in the last few months. All are fucking amazing. Spiderman 2 comes out in a few weeks, and it’s pretty much a guarantee it’ll be a great game.

There’s corporate greed everywhere, but there are just as many games with a ton of passion put behind them and where the devs are allowed to use that passion to its fullest

    Game pass happening.

We think game pass / PS Extra is great for gamers so we access a pool that has a bunch of games. So cool.

Aaand here we go. Shitload of games with less quality control. Bad optimization. Lack of content. Poor content quality.

But there is great quantity, right?

    It is exactly like Netflix.

I always say that and will always be saying that; Pool concept should be abandoned or what we see will always that kind of shitty, non hard worked games. I hate Game pass, PS Extra, Amazon prime game etc. etc. because I want a hard worked, quality games that deserves its full money.

Wait a moment and ask yourself. When did you see a game that has the same quality, like for example, RDR 2?

If you keep chasing “pool concept”, “Ahh only one price and you access a lot of games, that’s great”

No one can provide a quality game to you all the time, for a single price.

Capital investment groups and funding – welcome to the business of video gaming. Return on investment is the only metric that matters. Not your opinion, not mine, not the critics reviews (except to drive ROI), not the performance or success of a launch, not the number of bugs or quality of the story. All that matters is how much money it makes. Nothing else matters lately.

curious how much you’ve played every new game you just mentioned or if you’re just watching YouTubers shit on them and making it your opinion

I will tell you all day everyday starfield has more content than fallout 3. Fallout 3 was actually a really small game. Starfield has procedurally generated planets i.e unlimited content. Unlimited bases to raid unlimited places to explore. Ill admit all the loading screens does suck but based on your tirade about it im gonna guess you have a HDD so i dont really feel bad. I get alot of loading screens but they all only last a couple seconds.

Stop buying pre-release. Stop buying first day releases. Wait a month to see how the game is. If it’s shit don’t support the devs buy purchasing it. Profit.

Starfield is a great game, I haven’t been able to stop playing it since release. Claiming it has less content than Fallout 3 is crazy talk, you must not have actually played the game

Golden era of gaming was 10 years ago. Maybe it’s time to try play all classics again?

I feel like, and it is heavily my own opinion, that the content creators or streamers might be more of a reason as to why game companies are pushing out unfinished games and then patching them later.

Like, with creators and/or streamers they tend to buy the game day 1, which gives the money to the game company which is their ultimate goal. So they feel like that they have achieved a portion of their main goal, and now they can start to patch the game to somewhat retain the player base.

It is just my own opinion about how I have been feeling lately towards the new releases of games.
