That in terms of immersion, CDPR is on top. Night City will always call you back. This story, the choices, the lifestyle you live in the game just never get old. I truly am proud of them for producing this marvel of a game and improving it each year after a pretty crazy release.
I don’t mean to rag on Starfield…but I had a lot of trouble playing it and feeling immersed after spending so much time in Cyberpunk.
I hope everyone is enjoying Phantom Liberty and spending time in Night City. I know I am!

I took a break from Starfield for Phantom Liberty and one of the first things I see is a guy pissing non-stop through his fanny pack. Then I turned around and saw a lady taking a standing piss through her fanny pack. I took a car theft job but failed to get even halfway to the drop-off before time expired. So I called up my ride and it comes plowing through the piles of trash and stops high-centered on top of a barricade. I manage to get it un-stuck the instant a pedestrian walks in front of the car and now the cops are chasing me.
Good to be back in Night City.
Yeah its a pretty mid story.
Shame the company is shady as fuck.
Cyberpunk 2077 and Metro: Exodus are probably my top games in terms of atmosphere. They’re so deeply immersive
Agreed. I also put a pause on Starfield and going back to Night City made me even more aware of how Starfield lacks heart. It’s definitely a game I’ve enjoyed just chilling out and coasting along, but Cyberpunk is a different animal when it comes to heart, immersion, story, etc.
Starfield has better cyberpunk missions tho. Any mission that takes place on Neon has more corporate intrigue than cp2077. The gigs in cyberpunk just feel the same. Big sand box with many different angles of attack. But once you realize that’s litterally every single gig, boring, the vehicle update was well needed but you’re always on foot running and jumping until the inevitable point where you have to go cyberpunk with robot arms. While Starfield never has super man feel even your special powers fall flat if you aim them wrong. While cp has you feeling really over powered. When you’re not over powered it feels like a really hard brick wall that can only be won with better stuff. I like the skyrim and armor core approach of combat and that’s what Starfield feels like.
Both have there ups and downs. I just play them all.
I love this game, but how the fuck does someone put 1000 hours I to it? I’ve 100% the game twice, got 50% through a 3rd playthrough and am about 80% done on my DLC playthrough. I just hit 200 hours. By the time I’ve 100% 3 and a half times, I’ll probably be sitting at just shy of 250 hours. How do you quadruple that?
Cyberpunk has never given me anything close to the immersion I felt while playing Red Dead Redemption 2.
starfield really didn’t pull me in. Played like 30 hours and I just got bored and stopped playing, which never happened with the other bethesda games. Shame really
I dream in Night City.
I’ll rag on Starfield, I played it for 200 hours before putting it down because I had done everything and still felt completely void of emotion towards any characters or anything in the game. It was such a let down for me, I have uninstalled it… I also came back to Cyberpunk for the first time since release and wow what a pleasant surprise it’s been. I love it, it’s so amazing. I can’t stop thinking to myself, this is what real writing and real world building does for a story. And thats before even mentioning the insanely fun gameplay
Is it fair to keep comparing Starfield to CP? Should you not compare it to other games released like 3 years ago with many patches and DLCs? Or compare it to CP 1.0? I’m a CP choom with over 100 hours in CP and 0 in SF.
After spending over 50+ hours playing both Cyberpunk and Starfield, you can really see how much Starfield is actually lacking in immersion.
And I’m not ragging on Starfield, I’ve loved it so far, definitely one of the best games Bethesda has ever made, but at the end of the day, it’s still a Bethesda game, that comes with all of their trademark systems (and glitches, lol).
Good god these bootlicking, starfield comparison posts are cringe town USA.
Night City is just so alive. There’s people everywhere, there’s shops everywhere, there’s always some sounds of the city. Starfield and generally other open world games just feel empty in comparison
Are u guys didnt play Kingdom Come?
I had to delete cyberpunk last night. My save file got corrupted ;-; so now i gotta wait for it to redownload
