imo Smasher should be nearly unbeatable. I mean he’s the only known person who is 98% altered. He’s litteraly a machine with a brain. In the Anime even David with his Cybersuit could do any noticable damage to Smasher…
So i think he should be an optional boss at max-level and really hard to beat.
vyvertyt
This time i killed him even before he finished talking at the start of the fight lol
They really did write themselves into a corner with Smasher as the end boss. I don’t see how any fight 1v1 would allow them to match up to the true power levels of the character.
I’ve never read any outside media on Cyberpunk, and they never hyped him up as this huge unbeatable guy in the game from my perspective. A very strong, legendary figure, sure. But I never got the impression he was an unbeatable monster. Did i find him too easy to what they established in game (not outside media) lore? That’s hard to say because there aren’t a lot of 1vboss fights. Placide was a joke. Some of the cyberpyschos could be a challenge but only because you’re trying not to kill them. Sasquatch, Royce were easy. The only comparable is Oda. And I did find Oda harder but that also makes sense. He’d be just as tough as smasher. Maybe they could have made him more difficult? But he’s still the second most difficult boss in the game.

Adam Smasher in Cyberpunk Lore is pretty much unbeatable by conventionnal means let alone in 1vs1.
In the anime David gets absolutely shit on and it’s not even a fight despite using a top secret Suicide exoskeleton, and he had anime shonen protage stupid powers, in the broader lore the few that could fight him to a stallmate were other legends such as Morgan Blackhand (The best Solo ever, think Rambo paired with Terminator and God). And we never saw the outcome and he didn’t reached the same level of Cyborg at all. He
Johnny literally couldn’t even scratch him and emptied his mags on him with no effect on top of Millitech Secret ops soldiers, Rogue and other high level Merc’s, while Smasher literally cut him in half with a single shot of Auto Shotgun.
And yes the issue is that he’s made way too easy in the game for the simple reason that as always with Cyberpunk2077, ennemies actually have no counters to us, never while our character is stupidly too strong. To a point it makes no sense with the lore.
The gameplay just doesn’t fit the universe, Cyberpunk is all about having people over you that you’ll never overcome, definitely not a tech power fantasy of being an unbeatable god after 15 hours of gameplay / 2 weeks in game. (You’re literally Kratos barely after the Heist…)
That’s my biggest gripe with Cyberpunk 2077, they wanted to push out the cool stuff and the player to be an unbeatable hero so much while destroying all the top organisation of the world that the game itself is fundamentally impossible to incorporate in the Cyberpunk Lore and makes no sense with the books or the TTRPG’s. Fighting Max Tac let alone KILL them by level 20 is stupid. Especially since you get high level so fast. Adam Smasher is just even worse.
It’s basically the Equivalent of fighting a dozen Dragon’s by level 5 in D&D and killing Tiamat by level 8. It’s just incompatible with the lore.
Adam Smasher should literally be immune to hacks, pull you out of Sandevistan by having a better one than yours and Smash through your Berserk implant by ripping your limbs out of you. That’s what Adam Smasher is, the only human to have reached almost complete transformation.
In game putting him as a final boss was Dumb, especially letting us kill him. Or they should’ve incorporated Corporate extreme Sabotage beforehand.
But again CP2077 is powerfantasy after powerfantasy…..you’re pretty much Rey Skywalker power rushing through the entire lore just because *reasons”.
Oda should’ve already be out of our League by million light years.
zonanaika
Is it true anymore? Coz patch 2.0 makes it so much harder to kill bosses (Very hard mode here).
CrazeMase
Reminder that Smasher wasn’t prepared for V, smasher was able to equip everything necessary for his fight with David and that’s why we see him as an absolute beast, in every ending V shows up completely unexpected. Smasher was only able to grab what was available to him and haul ass to go deal with them.
babyshmuel
When I think of smasher in 2077, I come to the conclusion that his best days are behind him and that dude is washed. Easy prey.
nclsdv
You go attack the biggest corpo in the shillest corpo world, and still ask why their peewee bodyguard doesn’t measure up to you? In game, player is the center. In anime, story is the center. Therefore, you’re stronger than Smasher, got it?
WestCoastDirtyBird
I always thought this is the case because V is temporarily the most OP person in the CP77 universe.
Fragmentia
Smasher will always feel underpowered against fully powered V. I struggle with some enemies early on… against Smasher early, I would get annihilated.
bigeyez
Idk I was using a silenced pistol/tech weapons cool/tech build and he was pretty tough on VH. Granted I wasn’t running a min maxed broken build so maybe that is why but I felt he did a ton of damage.
I do wish he did something besides just shoot his gun and shoot missiles at you though.
BattleMedic1918
Ngl I felt being way over-prepped for storming Arasaka tower (Apogee Sandevistan + So Mi’s Quantum Tuner + Edgerunner perk)
GardinGeir
Well thank god you put a spoiler tag on

My gorilla arms loved smashing Adam 🦆
The_Sadorange
My personal theory is that >!Alt!< disables a massive amount of his cyberware, so essentially the entire time you fight him he’s under the effect of an extremely powerful cyberware malfunction quickhack. Maybe it’s so powerful that his ICE can’t even begin to detect it. It’s the only thing I can think of that comes close to reasonably explaining this.
RoboWarrior44
Cannonically, my V has destroyed 69% of night city’s population with a dildo. Adam Smasher ain’t got shit on V
JarlWheezer
Well tbf, your V is ridiculously overpowered if you do a 100% run, literally running the best cyberware and gear possible against the funny metal guy
UglyPuta-
wdym.. i had to change the difficulty just to finally beat him like two days ago
yeah that’s true, he didn’t even use any sandy to keep up with the player.
Kurtsey
Characters like Smasher are pretty hard to do right imo.
Lore wise he is a near unstoppable force of nature, and this is pretty difficult to translate into a “fair” boss fight in an FPS with RPG mechanics.
C__Wayne__G
V is actually just that guy
RNGPleass
I one shot him on very hard. Synapse burnout ftw.
AgentNeroz
V already surpassed Smasher in almost every way, especially when they can get a cyberwear that let’s them deal more damage to mechs.
Funny thing is, Smasher is less likely to terrorize NC, but your fate is pretty much sealed if you have a yellow checkmark on your head when V is in the neighborhood.
Fun_Budget4463
I think they should have built in 3 Smasher fights. The Heist should have included a limited, totally asymmetrical fight, with some sort of exit plan to showcase how overwhelming Smasher can be. Then a mid-game fight, maybe on the boat, that should still result in Smasher winning, or at least coming to a draw. Would have built tension and the fear of the inevitable final fight, but also would have let you feel how powerful V had become.
cxnx_yt
I’m on my new playthrough and not maxed out yet, I found his fight quite hard. Made it more challenging for my self. I’m fine with it and the different stages.

He’s just a cut of killable meat.
Biblically accurate V is just built different.

Can there be a mod to buff him? Oh there is:
