You’re hitting the paratooper too high, hitting them in the “parachute” (which has a really weird hit box) takes 2-3 shots from a sniper to take it down, but the body should be a one shot, you’re missing your initial shots which would prolly get you the kill but the follow ups you do hit end up hitting the parachutes hit box not the players

Ww2 hit detection is not great you probably should’ve hit at least some of the ones you missed.
It does take a little bit more effort shooting down commandos that are parachuting than it would normally if they weren’t parachuting.
