Hello everyone,
I am setting up a new PC setup workspace in my room and researching desk options. I am considering a 74-inch Karlby countertop paired with two Alex drawers from IKEA, as pictured above. However, I have heard some concerns about the durability of the Karlby since it is not made entirely of real wood.
My plan is to wall mount two 27-inch monitors above the desk. I intend to place my PC tower on the floor under the right side of the desk, using a stand to elevate it off the floor and prevent dust buildup. I will also have the usual peripherals on the desk – a keyboard, mouse, mousepad, audio interface, amplifier, microphone, and a boom arm to mount the microphone.
If anyone has suggestions for high-quality, sturdy desks around 74 inches wide that could support this setup, I would greatly appreciate your advice! I don’t mind if the desk is a bit less than 74 inches but I do not want it to exceed 74, thank you!

Also I am not wanting to sand or finish the butcher block myself, I’m really not handy like that haha.
Never done the Karlby setup myself but what i’ve heard is that there is a change it might bend, but thats with moniters and such on it, since you’re not doing that you dont really have to worry about that. (And even to make sure that doesnt happen in the future you can add a single leg in the middle of the desk close to the wall side).
I think you’re gonna be ok with the karlby and your wall mounted monitors. 74-inch is perfect width to support 2 monitors.
