If you change the camera to 3d person while on/in a vehicle and have a phonecall, V’s face is actually animated when they talk. I honestly didn’t expect this would be the case, discovered purely accidentally.
Posting here in case if someone doesn’t know about this and would be happy to try this to see their V talk.

Almost like it was meant to have 3rd person at some point.
This game is one of my ultimate favorites along with red Dead redemption 2.
The details are amazing and the women are sexy…in a video game, never thought it possible.
Hell in my playthrough I often forgot I was playing. Until the characters started asking me if I was ok.

Funny, because I swear that was never the case when doing that in third person. Maybe it’s new in the update.
correct me if im wrong but i feel like this was added very recently in 2.0, i noticed in the quest where you capture hellman when i was on a motorbike and talking back n fourth with panam.
its kinda inconsistent though, V’s mouth doesn’t move in other talking situations.

That feature also gives you one of the more bizarre oversights in the game, when you’re driving in a Delamain car (the slow scared one most prominently) and they talk to you, Del’s voice lines are animated on Vs face as if they’re the one speaking.
They added a lot of deleted dialogue and changed some things around in 2.0 so this might be new.
I noticed my V speaks now that I restarted with the update. Preem.
SPOILER: it was so jarring seeing yourself talking for the first time when V and Johnny are talking by the black wall if you choose the ending where Johnny takes Vs body, I didn’t realize how ugly I made my V until then.
This is wild there’s so much to discover in this game
