I bought a Gigabyte GP-P750GM against everyone calling it a bomb because it was cheap and was supposed to be V2 of the GPU and lo and behold it broke down after a year. I sent it back hoping to get my money back or receive something similar. Instead they sent me something that was probably in their clearance bin that stood there for years. Based on the reviews this is worse than the P750GM and I am not going to put another bomb in my case. I will return it again firmly asking for a refund.

I had a very similar experience a few times (1998-2000), and I have not purchased since. Good luck and I’m sorry that happened to you.
It sucks because it’s always so tempting, “hey look, this has everything..and..it’s cheaper”, but it turns out to be another example of “if it sounds too good….”.
Avoidance, I have found, is the best option for certain things.

Never buy another Gigabyte PSU ever again. Them not admitting fault when they called out certain media “outfits” on improper testing really makes me steer clear from their products in the future and shows how much they care about the safety of consumers.
Edit: grammar, but the outfits were intentional

I would personally just sell and get a reputable brand replacement

i had one of the exploding units i sent it back to them with all the hoops proof of purchase serial numbers and all. upd mangled the box all that was left was cords so they refused to give me a refund or replacement i talked with them for months and they screwed me. i had 2 hard drives both go poof at same time but i cant prove that was the power supply so i am just out on them as well.

Why would gigabyte send you a completely different PSU? That’s not what their warranty says nor would it even matter if it’s a new model.
I’ll just assume you didn’t RMA it because that’s not what that means in your case.

I don’t know what you are mad about that’s obviously a high quality power supply.

I wish I could be positive, but years of building for clients, I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with Gigabyte.
At one point, I had a pair of $400 mobos DOA back to back, and the RMA department just sent them back (damaged, rofl), with a response that they couldn’t replicate the issue. The issue was… they literally could not turn on. At all. It was mildly hilarious if my client hadn’t been out $800.

Did you get half your money back?
