If only he wasn’t a little Corpo bitch who uses V like everybody else and his “intention” to work together and help was genuine.
That’s Night City, and Cyberpunk for you there, a friend told me that you could save him in the ruined hotel, I didn’t knew that before my third playthrough, then I saved him and heard his ending message and was like:
“Damn, he really is a corpo dog, Johnny was so right, better if you had died Goro, bye”
I still love the character, and that is one of the best moments in the game, but it feels as such a betrayal that he is so obtuse in the way he thinks even to the end, he never saw V as more than a stupid, honorless thief, and a means to return to daddy ‘Saka wagging his tail to Hanako, that final bitter message proves the time he spent as a nobody and a loser, out of the corpo world and that convo didn’t teach him a thing.
The cat watching Johnny roll off raised a lot of questions in my head.

It was several playthroughs later that I noticed the cat is also watching you when you meet Takemura and Oda by the river.

One of my favorite moments in the whole game – it’s such a respite for V and Takemura from the chas that their lives have become. And for the players, from all that violence and depression of Night City… Such a great dialogue between them! Also I love how Goro refuses take away at the beginning, but ending up having something for both 🙂

For me, one of the most meticulously crafted experiences in the game. Getting to know a character so intimately, watching the conversation gradually transition into night without you even realizing it. Learning about their childhood, the cat—it all adds depth. I love Takemura. I’ve always felt like he’s inspired by the kinds of characters Hiroyuki Sanada, the Japanese cinema actor, often plays.

I especially love this scene in the context of a Corpo who later joins the Aldecaldos. It highlights both the symmetry and divergence between yourself and Takemura in a way I find really satisfying.
